Techniek : De Magico S1 MK2 lijkt een simpele redelijk compacte, niet al te zware vloerstaande luidspreker, maar schijn bedriegt. De Magico S1 MK2 zit bomvol innovatieve oplossingen, en is voorzien van de beste luidsprekertechniek ter wereld. Ten eerste weegt de Magico S1 MK2 55 Kg netto, en dat komt door de zeer stabiele en resonantievrije behuizing. De gehele body is van gegoten aluminium. Waar de Magico S1 MK1 nog was voorzien van verstevigingsribben, welke tegen de body aangeklemd werden, is de Magico S1 MK2 nu voorzien van verstevigingsribben welke door de body aangeklemd worden, in plaats van dus andersom, zodat de aluminium behuizing stressvrij is. De bovenkant is een dikke aluminium plaat die uit de CNC freesmachine komt en deze is hol aan de binnenkant en bol aan de bovenzijde. De interne resonantie wordt zo beter verspreid en de diffractie aan de buitenkant wordt ook verbeterd. De onderzijde komt ook uit de CNC freesmachine. Het is een zware massieve plaat aluminium, nu met de aansluitingen voor de enorm grote spikes, rechtstreeks in de onderkant. De filtertechniek is zeer geavanceerd en het filter is voorzien van topklasse componenten. De scheidingsfrequentie ligt vrij laag, ongeveer 1800Hz,  en de magnifieke tweeter kan nog meer van zijn kwaliteiten laten horen dan bij de 3 weg systemen. Dat is mogelijk omdat de maximale geluidsdruk lager ligt dan bij de 3 weg systemen. De Magico S1 MK2 is standaard voorzien van een metalen grill welke met magneetjes vastgeklikt wordt aan de voorzijde.

Luisteren : De kleinste S serie is een uitmuntende tweeweg luidspreker, misschien wel de beste 2 weg luidspreker ter wereld. Het afstraalgedrag van de S1 MK2 is subliem, vanwege de compacte opstelling van de woofer/midrange en de tweeter. De Magico S1 MK2 klinkt verbluffend groots, en ook zeer precies. De kwaliteit van de bassen, het middengebied en het hoog behoort tot het beste wat je momenteel kunt kopen. De emotie in de muziek komt zeer duidelijk tot leven, en er wordt een grote en geloofwaardige voorstelling in uw kamer gebouwd. Technique : The Magico S1 MK2 seems like a fairly compact, not too heavy floorstanding loudspeaker, but don’t be fooled by the way it looks. The Magico S1 MK2 consists of many innovative solutions and is equipped with the best loudspeaker techniques in the world. First of all, the Magico S1 MK2 weighs 55Kg each because of the very stable and resonance free enclosure. The whole enclosure is made from cast aluminium. The Magico S1 MK1 had reinforcement ribs, which were clamped against the enclosure. The Magico S1 MK2 however, has it’s enclosure clamped against the reinforcement ribs, so the other way around, this makes the aluminium enclosure stress free. The top side on the Magico S1 MK2 is a thick machined aluminium plate which is hollow on the inside and spherical on the outside, this way the resonance on te inside of the enclosure is spread out more evenly and it also improves the diffraction on the outside. The bottom plate is also made of machined massive aluminium and they got rid of the loose feet which you needed to screw under the speaker before you could screw in the spikes, you can now screw the spikes directly into the bottom of the speaker. The Magico S1 MK2 also comes with a metal grill which you can place on the speaker with the help of magnets.

 

 

Sound : The smallest S series by Magico is an excellent 2-way loudspeaker, maybe even the best 2-way loudspeaker in the world.
