Technology : The Mark Levinson No. 532H is essentially 2 monoblocks built into one housing. Not only is the amplifier fully dual mono configured, each channel also has its own power supply with a massive toroidal transformer. It is therefore no wonder that the Mark Levinson No. 532H weighs as much as 33.6 kg. The amplifier is constructed this way to achieve maximum grip and control over virtually all speakers with the lowest possible noise floor. With its very stable 300 watts per channel at 8 ohms, the Mark Levinson No. 532H has the real capability to drive large and heavy speakers, including sealed speakers or magnetostats. The enormous cooling fins are located inside the amplifier, which means the final design of the chassis is beautifully finished in a neutral and streamlined manner without huge fins on the outside. Listening : Sound-wise, there is very high quality to be found throughout the entire reproduction. The sound is simply correct on all fronts. The bass is firm, tight and rhythmic but never exaggerated or muddy. Voices and instruments sound natural and full, and the high tones are rich in detail yet very refined. The entire soundstage and various elements in the recordings are harmonically balanced; you don't hear too much of anything and nothing too little. This makes the Mark Levinson No. 532H perhaps not the most spectacular amplifier, but rather a very neutral and honest amplifier without frills that lets you effortlessly hear the entire recording and everything in it without listener fatigue.
