Technical Details : The Wilson Audio Maxx 3 is a phenomenal loudspeaker on all fronts, whether you're talking about it's technical details, it's design or the fabulous sound. The Maxx 3 uses the same 11" and 13" Focal woofers which are also used in the Maxx 2. But they've changed the material of the enclosure to a special material by Wilson Audio, they call it : 'X-Material'. This material is based on phenol and it's exceptionally thick, hard, inert and completely free of resonances. The enclosure of the Wilson Audio Maxx 3 is open, and has multiple optimally tuned ports for the low bass section and the mid-bass section on the backside of the enclosure. The midrange units have been created to sound perfect, but also to have the highest bandwidth as possible for a realistic display of the voices and live instruments. The midrange units have also been made to be capable of starting and stopping unbelieveably quick, the result of this is that the Maxx 3 sounds very dynamical, clean and refined. Another big difference compared to the Maxx 2 is that the enclosure is now made of 3 parts instead of 2. 1 Part is the bass section with the bass woofers, 1 part above that contains the tweeter and 1 midrange unit, and on top of that comes another part with 1 extra midrange units. The mid-high section are both adjustable in hight and angle to adapt te Wilson Audio Maxx 3 to the room they're standing in, this makes them suitable for almost any room of a decent size. The Wilson Maxx 3 are way easier to drive in comparisment to the Maxx 2, because the Wilson Maxx 3 has a minimum impedance which is 1 Ohm higher than the minimum impedance of the Maxx 2 . This may not sound as much, but it matters a great deal, especially for speakers of this size. It's possible to drive the Wilson Maxx 3 with many amplifiers, a maximum amount of Wattage is not needed, but a great quality is very important to get the most out of these impressive loudspeakers.

But if you play a soft classical piano composition or some easy listening jazz at a low volume, you will still hear every detail, and the stage is still visible.
