Technik : Der Magico S3 MK2 ist der Nachfolger des Magico S3 MK1. Der Magico S3 MK1 war bereits bahnbrechend in Bezug auf die Leistung für seine Größe und generell. Es war kaum vorstellbar, dass die Leistung eines Magico S3 noch verbessert werden könnte. Dennoch ist es Magico gelungen, die Leistung noch erheblich weiter zu verbessern. Zunächst gibt es einen völlig neuen Hochtöner. Der Beryllium-Hochtöner hat eine zusätzliche Diamantbeschichtung auf der Innenseite erhalten. Die Klarheit hat zugenommen und die Resonanzspitzen wurden abgeschwächt. Die Wiedergabe der hohen Töne ist nun entspannter. Der Mitteltöner des S3 MK2 besteht aus Graphen, einem Material, das vor zehn Jahren noch nicht einmal existierte. Graphen ist leichter, dichter und steifer als Nanotech, und die Leistung im Mitteltönerbereich ist erheblich verbessert worden. Man hört mehr Dynamik, aber auch hier wieder mehr Ruhe. Auch die Tieftöner bestehen nun aus Composite-Graphen, und das Gehäuse ist weiterhin geschlossen. Die Oberplatte wurde jedoch sowohl auf der Außenseite als auch auf der Innenseite gefräst, um Reflektionen zu verringern und stehende Wellen noch mehr im Gehäuse zu vermeiden. Das Innere ist also hohl gefräst. Unter dem S3 MK2 sitzt nun auch eine gefräste schwere Aluminiumplatte für mehr Stabilität. Der Magico S3 MK2 ist der größte Lautsprecher, dessen Körper aus einem Stück Aluminium gefertigt ist, auf der Welt.

Klang : Klanglich gibt es beim Magico S3 MK2 eigentlich nichts zu beanstanden. War der Magico S3 bereits der Spitzenreiter in seinem Segment, ist der S3 MK2 deutlich besser. Noch mehr Offenheit, Klarheit und Dynamik, aber auch Ruhe und Musikalität. Auch wenn Sie relativ laut hören, bleibt der Magico S3 MK2 unerschütterlich musikalisch, neutral, niemals hart und immer sauber. Wir möchten behaupten, dass der Magico S3 MK2 erneut bahnbrechend in seinem Segment und weit darüber hinaus ist. Mehr brauchen Sie eigentlich nicht, und werden Sie vermutlich auch nie brauchen. Der Magico S3 MK2 ist der beste uns bekannte Dreiwege-Toplautsprecher mit normalem Format auf der Welt. Dieser Magico S3 MK2 steht demonstrationsbereit bei Ohm-Audio bv. aufgestellt. Angeschlossen an die Bricasti M12 / M28 / M15 Verstärker-Kombination gibt es wirklich nichts zu beanstanden.

Technique : The Magico S3 MK2 is the follow up of the Magico S2 MK1. The Magico S3 MK1 already was groundbreaking with it's stunning preformances, especially for it's size, and also just in general. It was almost unimaginable that the preformance of the Magico S3 could be topped. And yet, Magico has succeeded to take the preformance another step higher. First thing is the new tweeter, they gave the Beryllium tweeter a diamond coating on the inside. This increased the purity of the sound and weakened the resonance peaks. The high notes now sound more relaxed and open. The midrange unit of the Magico S3 MK2 is made of composite graphene, it's a material which didn't even exist about 10 years ago. Graphene is lighter and more dense and stiff than Nanotech. The preformance this midrange unit has also passed the preformance of it's predecessor. The midrange is more dynamic and detailled, but just like the high notes, it's also more relaxed. The woofers are also made from composite Graphene, and the enclosure is still fully closed. They now machined the top side on the outside and the inside, so it's now round at the top, and hollow on the inside. They have done this to get rid of reflections and resonances on the inside of the enclosure. On the bottom side of the loudspeaker they also mounted a massive machined aluminium plate for more stability. The Magico S3 MK2 is the largest loudspeaker in the world with a body made out of one piece of aluminum.

Sound : The Magico S3 MK2 doesn't leave much more to desire. The Magico S3 MK1 already was one of the best in it's segment, but the S3 MK2 is clearly better. It's more open, more detailled, more dynamic but also more relaxed and musical. Even if you like to play really loud, the Magico S3 MK2 never loses it's grip, it stays detailled and neutral. We dare to say that the Magico S3 MK2 is again groundbreaking in it's segment, and even beyond. You don't need more than this, probably ever. The Magico S3 MK2 is one of the best loudspeakers with a normal size in the world in our opinion.
