General : The Ansuz Darkz S3W is a decoupler that improves the resonance properties for all types of audio equipment and speakers you place them under. The Ansuz Darkz S3W can be applied in any situation, under any type of equipment they do their job, amplifiers, D/A converters, streamers, turntables, power distributors/conditioners, routers, network switches and power supplies. Wherever you place the Ansuz Darkz S3W underneath, the sound will noticeably improve. Audio Group Denmark equipment (from Ansuz, Aavik, Borresen or Axxess) has feet that are specially designed to be placed on Ansuz Darkz. For equipment from other brands, the Ansuz Darkz S3W can be placed loosely under the base plate. There is also a spike dimple incorporated in the Ansuz Darkz S3W for equipment and speakers that stand on spikes, you can simply place the spike in the dimple to decouple it. For audio equipment with a 4mm, 6mm or 8mm threaded socket on the bottom, it is better to purchase the Ansuz Darkz Feet separately. Once you have installed the Ansuz Darkz Feet under your equipment or speaker, you have the option to choose between the Titanium or Tungsten balls from Ansuz, which you can then place on the Ansuz Darkz S3W in the recesses provided on top. You need 3 balls per Darkz S3W. The Ansuz Darkz Feet then fit perfectly over these balls for perfect decoupling and improved sound. This also looks aesthetically better and prevents the equipment from sliding off the feet. Equipment from Audio Group Denmark (Ansuz Acoustics, Aavik Acoustics, Børresen Acoustics) comes with Darkz Feet mounted as standard.

Specifications : The Ansuz Darkz S3W Resonance Control consists of 3 discs/layers made of solid stainless steel, these discs are CNC machined and polished. Each material has its own sonic character; stainless steel is a heavy material with excellent resonance properties and outstanding sound. By using stainless steel instead of aluminum, the mechanical resonance controlling properties of the Darkz S3W are considerably better than those of the aluminum models of the previous generation Darkz from Ansuz Acoustics. Between each layer are 3 balls made of solid Tungsten, each Ansuz Darkz S3W contains 6 tungsten balls. All models of the Ansuz Darkz, including the S3W, are cryogenically treated for optimal crystal structure in the metals.

3rd Generation Darkz Improvements : There are currently two types of stainless steel Darkz, the Darkz S3T and the Darkz S3W. The Ansuz Darkz S3W is an improved version of the Darkz S3T. The S3T is the successor to the Darkz S2T. What is new/improved in the Darkz S3W compared to the Darkz S2T and Darkz S3T is that the titanium balls between the discs have been replaced with tungsten balls. The tungsten balls have up to 4 times higher density compared to titanium, making them more effective at converting kinetic energy into heat. Additionally, the coupling piece of the Darkz S3W that holds the discs together is now made of solid titanium, whereas previously this coupling piece was made of aluminum (the Darkz S3T has a stainless steel coupling piece). Titanium has better resonance properties than aluminum; the coupling piece that holds the discs and balls together also influences the sound since it is part of the whole.

Listening : The Ansuz Darkz S3W provides a very noticeable improvement to the soundstage, regardless of what type of equipment or speaker you place them under. The soundstage becomes clearer, fuller, more refined and more natural. Actually, the sound improves on every front. Interestingly, after you've tried the Darkz S3W and remove them from under your equipment or speakers, a kind of emptiness suddenly emerges, there is suddenly a loss of engagement. Place the Ansuz Darkz S3W back under your equipment or speakers, and suddenly the engagement and magic return. The Ansuz Darkz S3W also ensures that listening fatigue occurs less quickly, the sound is better balanced and less restless. The Ansuz Darkz S3W is the decoupler for people who love body, the bass gains noticeably more impact and the midrange sounds fuller, more detailed and more pleasant.

Ansuz Acoustics Darkz Balls : There are currently 2 types of Ansuz Darkz Balls available for those who want to place Ansuz Darkz S3W under their equipment in combination with the Ansuz Darkz Feet. You can choose from Titanium Balls or Tungsten Balls. The Tungsten Balls weigh 4 times the weight of the Titanium Balls, thereby significantly improving the resonance absorbing and controlling properties. The difference in sound is that the Tungsten Balls sound fuller, more pleasant and more spacious than the already excellent Titanium balls.
