Michael Børresen is the designer of Børresen Acoustics speakers, Aavik Acoustics electronics, Ansuz Acoustics cabling and accessories, and the more affordable Axxess brand. These 4 brands all fall under the umbrella company Audio Group Denmark. All Audio Group Denmark brands are manufactured in the same factory and designed with the same design team. The complete package to set up an amazing High End audio system. The Børresen Acoustics speakers are a successor to the earlier Raidho speakers, also designed and produced by Michael Børresen. The quality of Børresen is one step higher than Raidho. New techniques, new materials, and incredibly beautiful enclosures.
Børresen Acoustics speakers feature drivers with extremely light moving mass and powerful Neodymium drive. This ensures extremely fast acceleration of the units and thus also very dynamic, transparent, and refined reproduction. The special ribbon tweeter from Børresen Acoustics has a moving mass of just 0.01(!) gram, and the woofers/midrange units have a cone made of 2 layers of spread tow carbon with a layer of Aramide (Kevlar) in honeycomb form in between for reinforcement. In the case of the T-series, these woofers are further reinforced with graphene and boron through the epoxy that binds the layers together. And in the flagship M-series there is even a very thin layer of titanium with a very fine coating layer of titanium nitride, tungsten and zirconium, which is applied via high impulse magnetron sputtering. The 4.5 inch driver membranes of Børresen Acoustics speakers weigh only 5.5 grams and are so stiff and strong that you could stand on them without breaking them (although this is not recommended). The drivers are long-throw woofers that reproduce bass extremely stably, and Børresen Acoustics speakers can play extremely loud without losing stability. The drivers are also Iron-Free; the pole rings are made of pure copper, and in the case of the Silver Supreme Editions even of solid silver. These solid silver rings are completely manufactured in-house. All floor-standing Børresen Acoustics speakers are 2.5-way speakers, the midrange drivers are not filtered down, which ensures a smooth transition from the bass to the lower midrange and then to the midrange area. The enclosures are decoupled from the base plate by means of Ansuz Acoustics Darkz Resonance Control Footers. Under the base plate are Darkz Feet, with the intention that you can also place Ansuz Darkz Resonance Control Footers underneath with titanium or tungsten balls on top. Through this method of decoupling, you get a more organic sound with more detail, space, and body, and with this you get the most out of your Børresen speakers. In our view, this is more of a must than just an upgrade.
Børresen Acoustics speakers sound like no other speaker on the market. So tight, so refined, so dynamic, yet at the same time so controlled. Børresen Acoustics speakers set new standards in what is possible with compact format speakers. Even the 2-way monitor speakers have an enormous soundstage and deep, controlled bass. The largest models of Børresen Acoustics are an absolute pleasure to listen to. Once combined with a high-quality and powerful amplifier, you would almost think it couldn't be better.
Børresen Acoustics Speaker Series: Børresen Acoustics makes 4 different speaker series. First, there is the most affordable X-series, which includes the X1 standmount speaker and the X2, X3, and X6 floor-standing speakers. Above the X-series, you find the C-series, which features better enclosure, better magnet drive, and better crossover components. In the C-series, you have a C1 standmount speaker and the C2 and C3 floor-standing speakers. Above the C-series is the stunning T-series, which is the successor to the very successful O-series. The T-series has beautiful and high-quality enclosure and features better techniques such as noise cancelling, improved driver membranes, better crossover components, and the drivers are also mounted in a massive titanium basket, which is based on the zirconium baskets of the flagship M-series. The T-series are available in Cryo finish and Silver Supreme Edition finish. With both versions, the metal parts and internal wiring are cryogenically treated, and in the Silver Supreme Edition, the copper pole rings in the magnet system are replaced by in-house produced solid silver pole rings. Finally, you have the aforementioned M-series, which features all the techniques from Michael Børresen's bag of tricks. These M-series have the best driver membranes, the best driver baskets, the best Ansuz D-TC3 Gold Signature internal wiring, and the best crossovers and noise cancelling techniques.

Børresen Acoustics M-series: The flagship project that has come out of Børresen Acoustics is the Børresen M-series. In the M-series, you find the M1 standmount speaker and the M2, M3, and M6 floor-standing speakers. The Børresen M-series is a special series of speakers, with the ribbon tweeter being the same as those found in the X-series, C-series, and T-series. But the midrange/woofer has been improved by adding an extra layer of pure titanium with Ansuz Supreme Coating (Zirconium, Tungsten, and Titanium Nitride) on top of the outer non-woven carbon layer. This latest generation driver has maximum stiffness and minimal membrane resonance. Even more special is the basket in which the M-series drivers are suspended, as it is made of solid Zirconium, which has been created in a special form using a 3D printing process. The basket is not just a holder for the membrane. The energy generated by the membrane is also held by the structure behind it, and how this structure handles resonances, etc., can be heard in the sound reproduction. The aim was therefore to eliminate the sound of the basket by designing a basket with maximum stiffness that also provides optimal flow for the moving membrane section. This resulted in the solid 3D printed Zirconium basket. The metal parts and internal wiring in the M1 are all cryogenically treated for lower inductance and less stress. The pole ring in the magnet system is made of 100% pure silver. These rings are melted, cast, and then milled in-house. Silver has the best conductive properties, and by making the pole ring of solid silver as well, you get a more transparent and detailed sound as the final result. Between the M1 and the stand are 3 pieces of Ansuz Darkz Z3W Resonance Control feet, which are the most expensive and best Darkz resonance control feet from Ansuz, costing more than €3,000 each when purchased separately. These Darkz Z3W consist of 3 discs of solid Zirconium treated with Hafnium, with 3 Tungsten balls between each layer. By using these Darkz feet in the stand, resonances from the floor are not transmitted to the speaker and vice versa, which provides more stable and realistic reproduction. The internal wiring in the M1 is the expensive Gold Signature wiring from Ansuz Acoustics, which has extremely low inductance through the 'Double Inverted Helix Coil' technology and features conductors made of pure silver-plated copper. In addition, you also find various Tesla Coil technologies in the M-series. The Tesla Coil technologies essentially consist of 2 coils, a coil and a counter coil. When a noise spike passes through one coil, the counter coil creates a counter spike that cancels out the first noise spike. The more Tesla Coils, the more noise is removed from the signal, and the blacker and quieter the background becomes, and the clearer and more open the sound becomes. The Børresen M-series belongs to the absolute top of the world.
