Streaming Amplifiers in our webshop
An Amplifier was simple to describe. It is essentially a preamplifier and power amplifier in 1 chassis, with 1 power supply. The Integrated Amplifier thus has the preamplifier connections for the various sources and the built-in power amplifier drives the speakers. 1 Device instead of 2, or 3 (Monoblocks).
But nowadays we also often see the so-called All-in-One Amplifiers. These are ordinary integrated amplifiers with built-in sources, such as a network player (streamer) or a DA Converter, or a Phono MM/MC preamplifier. With us, integrated amplifiers are the ordinary amplifiers with possibly a Phono MM/MC Preamplifier and/or a DA Converter built in. In addition, we distinguish Streaming Amplifiers as a separate category. These Streaming Amplifiers have a built-in streamer, and often also an extensive display, to see what is playing, and the streaming amplifiers also have a network connection.
A good ordinary integrated amplifier is an excellent solution to form the heart of your Hifi or High End Audio installation. You still need 1 or more sources in addition. With the streaming amplifier, that is no longer necessary. Connect to your network via Wifi or better yet, a UTP cable, and start playing.
Ohm-Audio BV has streaming amplifiers that can do everything, from around 2,000 euros, to as much as 30,000 for our best ultra High End Streaming Amplifiers. The latter is indeed extremely expensive, but also extremely good.
