Franco is sadly no longer with us, and his business Sonus Faber has been sold to the McIntosh group, Fine Sounds. Franco Serblin's son, Frankie Serblin, does not make speakers, but has recently developed a fantastic-looking and sounding amplifier line.
Frankie Integrated Amplifier
The products from Serblin & Son are fantastically built and sound excellent. They have chosen to make 3 integrated amplifiers with traditional Class A and AB amplification, as well as modern Class D amplifiers. The volume control is a relay-controlled analog control, which is superior to most potentiometers. The pre- and power amplifiers will follow. The Frankie amplifiers come standard with sufficient inputs, and also an adjustable phono input for MM and MC cartridges. There is also a fine subwoofer output available. Very useful. As an extra, you can have the Frankie amplifier equipped with a very fine-sounding DA Converter and Streamer module for just a few hundred euros. Always do this, so you can connect your streamer digitally.
