General : The Børresen X3 is the newest and most affordable floor-standing speaker from the Danish high-end brand Børresen Acoustics. The X-series from Børresen Acoustics sets new standards in sound quality and musicality within its price range. The Børresen X3 is an innovative 2.5-way floor-standing speaker with a tall yet narrow and stylish cabinet. The X-series from Børresen Acoustics is the most affordable line from Børresen Acoustics, the X-series is more affordable than the expensive 0-series and Z-series, yet no compromises have been made on quality. And you can hear that immediately.

Engineering : The Børresen X3 features a very thoughtfully conceived design. The black baffle is made of HDF and features a clean, screw-free design with carbon accents. The cabinet is lute-shaped, slim and deep. The drivers and crossovers are manufactured by Børresen in-house. The drivers and tweeter used are unique. The dipole planar tweeter is made from a special foil and has a moving mass of only 0.01 grams, driven by a powerful Neodymium magnet. The two 4.5" woofers and single 4.5" midrange driver consist of 3 different layers pressed tightly together. The 3 layers consist of 2 layers of spread carbon, with a layer of aramide in honeycomb design in the middle for reinforcement. Through the use of these materials and their tight compression, the drivers in the Børresen X3 are extremely light and extremely rigid, free from resonances. Combined with the powerful Neodymium magnet drive, this provides extremely fast acceleration of the moving units, resulting in more realistic and refined reproduction. The materials used provide extremely low self-inductance, which prevents distortion and resonance from occurring. The Børresen X3 is an open system with 6 bass reflex ports tuned to musically relevant frequencies. The tweeter has its own compartment with a vent port in the cabinet, preventing the tweeter from being affected by the pressure generated by the woofers and midrange driver. The cabinet itself is made from a natural wood composite material and reinforced with carbon fiber inserts. The whole assembly weighs 55 kg per speaker.

Listening : The Børresen X3 sounds like no other speaker in its price range. So controlled, so spacious and so refined and free from resonance, at any volume. Immediately it becomes clear that we are dealing with a very special speaker. The reproduction is very precise and realistic, but at the same time there is an enormous sense of calm throughout. You find yourself immediately in the space where the performers are, whether it is a small studio, a large concert hall, or even a stadium. The Børresen X3 captures the atmosphere with great precision. The Børresen X3 can play quite loud, and even at the highest volumes the sound image remains stable and pleasant to listen to. In addition to high volumes, you can of course also use the Børresen X3 very well at low volumes. Due to the very low moving mass of the ultra-light tweeter and drivers, even with quiet music at room volume you get to hear every detail and see a spatial image. The Børresen X3 is a speaker you will most likely never want to part with. Unless the Z-series or 0-series from Børresen Acoustics come within reach. Simply everything is present: dynamics, speed, rhythm, spatiality, and above all, calm. What more could one ask for?
