General: A handcrafted, compact and stylish high-end 2-way standmount speaker from the renowned Italian speaker manufacturer Sonus Faber.

Technology: The Sonus Faber Olympica Nova 1 is the successor and improved version of the Olympica 1, and it is a beautifully constructed compact monitor speaker with a very mature sound. The cabinet design is particularly distinctive. Not only the classic loudspeaker shape, but also an asymmetrical enclosure without parallel walls. The cabinet itself is an 8-layer construction of curved birch plywood and HDF, extremely rigid and thanks to the sandwich construction, the resonance behavior is also very favorable for music reproduction. For color, you can choose between a beautiful dark wooden Wenge veneer finish or a natural walnut wood veneer finish, and the Olympica Nova 1 can also be supplied in a high-gloss black finish. The Sonus Faber Nova 1 does not have a traditional bass reflex port; the port on the rear is a slot that runs the full height of the speaker. This method of cabinet ventilation provides better dispersed dispersion and less pressure, which allows the Sonus Faber Olympica Nova 1 to be placed closer to the rear wall. The new 29mm Sonus Faber Arrowpoint silk dome tweeter is excellent, driven by a neodymium magnet and guarantees fast and pure treble reproduction. The 150mm bass/midwoofer is also outstanding. The cone itself is made from a mix of natural materials, wood, paper, kenaf and other fibers. The crossover is high quality and the bi-wire connection is made with Sonus Faber's own connectors for spades and/or banana plugs.

Listening: Although the Sonus Faber Olympica Nova 1 is compact, it is truly remarkable what a complete and mature reproduction comes from these stylish little speakers. The bass reproduction is also tight, firm and musical. Previous Sonus Faber models often had a very warm sound. The friendliness in terms of warmth has been retained in the newer models, but the Olympica Nova 1 simply plays easier, tighter and more open. The sound can be described as warm, but without wooliness and also not at all dark. The Sonus Faber Olympica Nova 1 places the performers far into the room, which creates a tremendous sense of involvement with the music. The beauty of a compact high-quality 2-way speaker is its excellent imaging. The image is just right, the timing is excellent and everything in the room is perfectly placed.
