General : The Borresen 03 is the mid-size floor standing speaker from the '0-series' of Børresen Acoustics. A true high-end listening experience in a medium-sized format with a sleek and elegant design.

Engineering : The Borresen 03 features a very thoughtful design. The cabinet is manufactured by Sino Factory, a Danish manufacturer. The black baffle is made of HDF and features a clean, screw-less design. The drivers and crossovers are manufactured in-house by Borresen. The drivers and tweeter used are unique. The diople planar tweeter is made from a special foil and has a moving mass of only 0.01 grams, driven by a fast and super-powerful Super-Neodymium N52 magnet. The tweeter is located in its own compartment within the cabinet, ventilated through two ventilation openings on the side and one port on the rear. The four 4.5" cones are made of 4-millimeter thick 'Nomex Core' design with two layers of non-woven carbon fiber from the Japanese manufacturer 'Toray', a high-tech company that also supplies parts for Formula 1 vehicles and the aerospace industry. Like the tweeter, the cones are driven by a Super-Neodymium N52 magnet. The combination of a light moving mass and powerful N52 Neodymium drive results in extremely fast acceleration of the units, ensuring quick response. The materials used provide extremely low self-inductance, which minimizes distortion and resonance. The Borresen 03 is an open system, but through the intelligent use of diffusers at the bass port, the port does not emit large sound waves with high energy toward the wall. Instead, the sound waves are dispersed and reduced, resulting in decreased energy output from the bass port. This allows you to place the Borresen 03 as close as 80cm from the rear wall without bass resonance or dominance. Of course, more space around the speakers is still beneficial.

Versions :

Three versions of the Borresen 03 are available, featuring the special Cryo Version:

- The Cryo version. This version is structurally identical to the standard version. The difference is that the drivers and crossover components undergo cryogenic treatment. The components are cooled to -196 degrees Celsius over 24 hours, remain at this temperature for 24 hours, and then are brought back to room temperature over another 24 hours. The entire process takes 72 hours. This process changes the internal molecular structure of the materials and eliminates internal stress. Additionally, the conductivity of the metal increases by 6-8% and inductance is reduced by 6-8%. The result is a more transparent, direct, and detailed reproduction.

Listening : The Borresen 03 Cryo sounds truly special. Fast, open, and yet gentle on the ears. So controlled, so spacious, and so refined and free of resonance at any volume. It is immediately clear that we are dealing with a very special speaker. The reproduction is extremely precise and realistic, while at the same time conveying an enormous sense of calm throughout. You are immediately placed in the space where the performers are playing, whether it be a small studio, a large concert hall, or even a stadium. The Borresen 03 Cryo conveys the atmosphere with remarkable accuracy. The Borresen 03 Cryo can play quite loud, and even at the highest volumes the sound remains stable and pleasant to listen to. Of course, you can also enjoy low volumes with the Borresen 03 Cryo. Due to the extremely low moving mass of the ultra-light tweeter and midrange/woofer drivers, even at quiet listening levels and room volume, you hear every detail and see a spacious soundstage. The Borresen 03 Cryo takes another step forward in terms of musical enjoyment, bass impact, and spatial imaging compared to the Borresen 01 Cryo and 02 Cryo.
