General: Axxess is the fourth and newest brand of Audio Group Denmark, developed to make the high-quality sound of Audio Group Denmark accessible to a large number of people. The 3 other brands of Audio Group Denmark are: Aavik Acoustics, Ansuz Acoustics and Børresen Acoustics. All these brands are designed by the same designers and are manufactured in the same factory, which means these 4 brands also share the distinctive yet highly effective techniques of Audio Group Denmark with each other. The Axxess brand was launched in April 2023, and the first products made by this brand are the streaming amplifiers from the Forté series. The Forté series consists of 3 types: the Forté 1, the Forté 2 and the Forté 3.

Technology: The Axxess Forté 1 was designed with the same vision as the rest of the Audio Group Denmark equipment, which means that the Axxess Forté 1 has extensive noise reduction on board, is ultra quiet, has a very dynamic power delivery and has a sleek design. The Axxess Forté line thus consists of 3 streaming amplifiers, all with the same design and the same power. The difference between the Axxess Forté 1, 2 and 3 lies in the types and amount of Tesla Coils and Dither Circuitry for noise reduction, the Forté 3 also has a massive copper bottom plate instead of aluminum to reduce hysteresis in the housing. The Axxess Forté 1 uses 36 Active Tesla Coils, 72 Active Square Tesla Coils and 3 Dither Circuits. The rated power is 100 Watts per channel, but more importantly is the way the Axxess Forté 1 delivers its power. The Axxess Forté 1 has very dynamic power, which means that the Axxess Forté 1 is extremely good at quickly and stably delivering peak voltages without distortion when the music signal demands it. This is due to the powerful and low noise 'resonant mode power supply' and the modern and musical UMAC™ amplifier technology of the Pascal amplifier module. Finally, the headphone output is driven by a very high-quality, fully Class A functioning headphone amplifier. Because it is a Class A headphone amplifier, it has very linear power delivery, very high Gain and very low distortion.

Technology: The highly advanced technology from the Aavik amplifiers is unique. The Aavik U-188 uses the latest amplifier generation from Pascal. This newest generation UMAC™ amplification can switch even faster and generates even less noise than previous generations. As a result, less filtering needs to be applied and the output impedance is lower, giving the amplifier even more control over the connected speakers. The Aavik U-188 has 2 x 300 Watts at 8 Ohms and even 2 x 600 Watts at 4 Ohms. The Aavik U-188 can thus drive practically anything, from huge Infinity's or B&W's and Wilson Audio to the largest models of Magnepan, Analysis Audio and other electrostatic speakers. The newest generation resonant mode power supply is very generously dimensioned and always calculated for the task. The technical construction is very advanced and uses various techniques from sister brand Ansuz Acoustics. For example, the Aavik U-188 contains comprehensive Noise and Impedance Reduction via Ansuz Tesla Coil and Dither Technology. The Aavik U-188 has 36 Active Tesla Coils, and 72 Active Square Tesla Coils. These Tesla Coils eliminate noise from the music signal and lower the impedance, which ensures a freer flow of the music signal from point A to point B. There are also 4 Anti Aerial Resonance Coils in the Aavik U-288 which are applied to the internal wiring. Additionally, 3 Analog Dither Circuitries from the latest (3rd) generation are applied in the Aavik U-188. The power consumption of the Aavik U-188 is very favorable. The Aavik U-188 consumes only 1 Watt in standby, and in music mode the consumption is < 30 Watts idle. A high-quality DAC is built into the Aavik U-188. The DAC supports PCM formats up to 32bit/384Hz and the USB input can also support DSD formats up to DSD128, and the DAC in the Aavik U-188 also has an MQA decoder on board.

Streamer: The Axxess Forté 1 has an excellent and versatile streamer. This streamer can be controlled with the free Audio Group Denmark app, MConnect/MControl (iOS and Android) and BubbleUPnP (Android). One of the best options to use is JPlay (iOS only), however there are costs involved with the license to use JPlay. In addition, all 'Connects' are present, so Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect. For people with a server, the Axxess Forté 1 can be used as a RoonReady endpoint behind a Roon server, or as an endpoint for an Audirvana server. There are also 2 USB ports on the back of the Axxess Forté 1 which can be used for a WiFi Dongle for a wireless connection (we recommend a wired connection), but you can also connect a USB stick or USB drive to play music directly from the connected USB storage.

As for connections, there is also plenty available. The speaker connections are from WBT where both spade plugs or banana plugs or bare wire can be connected. There is an analog RCA input available for example for a CD player or Phono Preamplifier. An analog Pre Out for subwoofers. There are 3 digital inputs available, USB-B for PCs or external streamers, SPDIF BNC for digital equipment such as a CD transport and a Toslink Optical input for example for your television or Blu Ray player. On the back you will also find 2 USB inputs for a USB flash drive or a USB WiFi dongle. Finally, there is also a trigger output which can be used to switch on external amplifiers or subwoofers. The trigger output delivers 12V DC up to 50mA.

Sound: The Axxess Forté 1 is a very special device in its price range. A complete audio system in 1 compact device with enough features and connections to serve virtually everyone. But does it sound good? We can only answer convincingly "Absolutely." The Axxess Forté 1 is a very musical amplifier, the sound is very natural and the entire recording is played back with great ease and the playback is very stable at any volume. The bass is powerful, tight and deep. The midtones are transparent, clear, refined and organic. The treble is rhythmic, fast and precise. Yet thanks to the extensive noise reduction, you won't encounter a trace of harshness in the sound. Listening fatigue is also not an issue. The Axxess Forté 1 handles all music genres, the Axxess Forté 1 is dynamic and powerful enough to play cutting-edge trance, but also sensitive and atmospheric enough to play vocal jazz and classical music. It is very special to hear how much musicality you can get from one device.
