General : The RS520 is the latest model from the Korean brand Hifi Rose. The Hifi Rose RS520 is a single device with the functionality of a complete hifi set and even goes beyond that!

Technology : The first thing that stands out is the stylish design and the large touchscreen display on the front. The IPS technology of this screen ensures realistic color reproduction and a wide viewing angle, which means the display is readable from many different angles. Above the screen you will find a power button and volume control, although in general you will use the Bluetooth remote control or the app to control the volume.

The display of the Hifi Rose RS520 provides a luxurious appearance, and the build quality and operation of the Hifi Rose RS520 feels the same. The chassis is namely made of one thick piece of aluminum that feels sturdy and also reduces resonance. Anyone can take the Hifi Rose on the go and yet the software has a luxurious appearance. The Hifi Rose RS520 is versatile, so the Hifi Rose RS520 can be used as a Music Server, Music & Video (up to 4K) Streamer, DAC and integrated amplifier with impressive power of 2 x 250 Watt, which allows virtually all speakers to be controlled with ease. The Hifi Rose RS520 can be equipped with an SSD drive to store music, an SSD drive of up to 4TB can be installed in a simple manner. The Hifi Rose RS520 can also retrieve music from external network locations such as a NAS or NUC and it is also possible to play music from an external USB storage location such as a Hard Drive or a USB stick.

The DAC used in the Hifi Rose RS520 is a high-quality DAC with ESS Sabre ES9038PRO chips that can play 768KHz/32bit PCM and DSD512 files. It also has a built-in MQA decoder so you can also play the High Res MQA files from Tidal. The PCBs are efficiently designed and developed to prevent noise, which ensures cleaner sound reproduction with less disturbance.

Functionality : The Hifi Rose RS520 has various commonly used applications installed by default. The following applications are included : Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, RoseTube (YouTube music only). The Hifi Rose RS520 is also RoonReady and can therefore also be placed behind a Roon Server as a player. These apps can be controlled directly via the Touchscreen on the front but of course also via the HiFi Rose app called 'Rose Connect' on your phone or tablet. You can also control the Hifi Rose RS520 with the supplied remote control. The display is fully adjustable, you can have the display show multiple things. You can fully dim the display, you can play YouTube videos from it, but you can also set the display to show VU-meters where you can choose the color yourself. The appearance of the display can be adapted to your personal preferences. Via the HDMI connection you can connect the Hifi Rose RS520 directly to a television, which makes concerts from YouTube come to life, you can output videos up to 4K resolution to the television, at 60 FPS. Due to the many digital inputs and outputs, the RS520 can also be used as a standalone server/streamer or as a D/A Converter for, for example, a CD drive or Blu Ray player. Internet radio and podcasts can also be played by the Hifi Rose RS520. Hifi Rose also makes a CD drive/ripper, the Hifi Rose RSA780, from which you can rip CDs to add them to the optional internal SSD, or you can play the CDs directly.
