General: The X6 is the largest model in the most affordable X-series from the Danish High End brand Børresen Acoustics. The X-series from Børresen Acoustics sets new standards in terms of sound quality and musicality in its price range. The Børresen X6 is an innovative 2.5-way floor-standing speaker with a tall, narrow and stylish cabinet. The X-series from Børresen Acoustics is the most affordable line from Børresen Acoustics, the X-series is more affordable than the expensive C-series, T-series and M-series, yet no compromises have been made on quality. And you hear that immediately.

Technology: The Børresen X6 has a very thoughtful design. The black baffle is made of MDF and features a clean, screw-free design with carbon accents. The cabinet is horn-shaped, slender and deep. The drivers and crossovers are made by Børresen themselves in-house. The drivers and tweeter used are unique. The dipole planar ribbon tweeter is made of a special type of film and has a moving mass of only 0.01 grams and is driven by a fast and extremely powerful Neodymium magnet. The 6 pieces of 4.5" woofers consist of 3 different layers which are pressed very rigidly together. The 3 layers consist of 2 layers of spread carbon, with a layer of aramide (better known as Kevlar) in honeycomb design in the middle for reinforcement. Through the use of these materials and their rigid assembly, the drivers in the Børresen X6 are extremely light and extremely rigid and free from resonances. Combined with the powerful Neodymium magnet drive, this ensures extremely fast acceleration of the moving units, which in turn results in a more realistic and refined reproduction. The materials used provide extremely low self-inductance which ensures that there is little distortion or resonance. The Børresen X6 is an open system with 8 bass reflex ports which are tuned for musically relevant frequencies. The tweeter has its own compartment with a ventilation port in the cabinet, so the tweeter is not affected by the pressure created by the woofers and midrange driver. The cabinet itself is made of a natural wood composite material and reinforced with carbon fiber inserts. The entire unit weighs 79 kg per speaker.

Listening: The Børresen X6 sounds like no other speaker in its price range. So grand, controlled, so spatial and so refined and free from resonance, at any volume. It is immediately clear that we are dealing with a very special speaker. The reproduction is very precise and realistic, but at the same time there is an enormous sense of calm throughout. You are immediately placed in the room where the performers are, whether it's a small studio or a large hall or even a stadium. The Børresen X6 knows how to convey the atmosphere very accurately. The Børresen X6 can play quite loud, and even at the highest volumes the sound image remains stable and pleasant to listen to. Besides high volumes, you can of course also do very well at low volumes with the Børresen X6. Due to the very low moving mass of the ultra-light tweeter & drivers, you also get to hear every detail at quiet music at room volume and see a spatial image. The Børresen X6 is a speaker you will most likely never want to part with. Unless the C-series or T-series from Børresen Acoustics comes within reach. Simply everything is present, dynamics, speed, rhythm, spatiality and especially calmness. What more could one want?
