General: The Magnepan MG .7 is the smallest full range loudspeaker from Magnepan, and it is a beauty.

Technology: The Magnepan .7 is a planar dipole loudspeaker that truly makes music. The MG .7 is a perfect example of ultra high-end reproduction at a ridiculously low price. Where dynamic loudspeakers move air with cones and domes, the Magnepan MG .7 moves air over a large surface area. It is a 2-way quasi-ribbon design. Similar technology to electrostatic transducers, but without the associated electronics such as high-voltage modules and power supplies. In the MG .7, the voice coil runs through the foil, and this foil is driven directly by it.

Listening: What makes the Magnepan MG .7 special is the extremely airy and pure reproduction that "normal" loudspeakers simply cannot achieve, except in extremely expensive systems. The MG .7 is relatively large at 127cm high and 42cm wide, but they are only 4cm deep and due to their light weight are easy to move. Optimally position the Magnepan MG .7 70cm-100cm from the wall, and after listening you can easily slide the MG .7 back to the wall if desired.
