Technology: The Kii Audio BXT system essentially combines a Kii Three with BXT subfrequency extenders and line arrays (not actually subwoofers in the traditional sense), and optionally includes the Kii Control. The Kii Three itself has different software and settings, and now performs differently as a full range system. Once the Kii Three is removed, it functions again as a standalone unit, with software automatically adjusted. The bass section is adapted to work with the BXT woofer tower. In the BXT System, each unit is separately amplified with its own 250 Watt Purifier amplifier. The BXT unit itself has 8 woofers, the Kii Three has 4 woofers, a midrange, and of course a tweeter—14 units in total, each with a 250 Watt Purifier amplifier. The Purifier amplifiers are new, and the sound quality has genuinely improved. The BXT System features a remarkable 3500 Watts of continuous amplifier power per channel. Each unit is driven directly without a crossover filter in between, ensuring optimal control and minimal distortion and losses. Whether you play loud or soft makes almost no difference now. The most significant technological innovation in the BXT system is that it radiates the bass in a cardioid pattern, just like the Kii Three. Every other speaker on the market radiates omnidirectionally below 250Hz. This means bass reproduction is heavily dependent on the room and speaker placement—you know the issue. In one spot there's plenty of bass, in another almost nothing. You end up moving speakers around until you find a compromise position, which often isn't ideal for your listening position. With every speaker in every room, it remains a major compromise. The Kii Audio Three and BXT radiate bass forward to approximately 40Hz. The BXT system is even a line source in the bass range. As a result, the BXT brings bass to your seat and into the room, rather than radiating it everywhere. Bass energy is focused and radiated strongly forward by the BXT System, barely upward or downward. Your neighbors will appreciate this. The bass quality is genuinely very high, like all other qualities of this exceptional system. A second technical innovation is that the BXT system is phase-correct. Thanks to DSP, all units are driven and delayed as needed so all frequencies reach your ears simultaneously. This delivers a very natural and homogeneous sound, not just at your listening position but throughout the room. In summary, the Kii Audio BXT System is a very complete and unique High End audio system. Add your streamer, CD player, and similar components, and you have a complete and utterly unique system at home that looks exceptional and sounds completely distinctive.

The Kii BXT System features a new series of PRO filters that allow complete adjustment of the speakers to your room acoustics and personal preference. There was already fantastic tonal control, but now we can also correct room acoustics. With a few notch filters, we can reduce standing waves to ripples, and soften the sound in overly reflective rooms. You can do this yourself, but we'll handle it at purchase, free of charge at your home.

Listening: We know the Kii Three very well, and the new Kii Three with BXT is improved further. The new Purify amplifiers deliver a more audiophile sound with more engagement and warmth, more magic as you wish. A cable set is included as standard, but as always, there's significant room for improvement. We prefer to cable the Kii BXT/Three with Ansuz Network Cables. The X level is already much better than the included power cable. The BXT module can be excellently connected with a quality power cord, which isn't possible with the Three due to space constraints. Once properly cabled, the Kii BXT sounds like another world. The Kii BXT System is a relatively compact floor-standing speaker that sounds much larger than it is, with an unimaginably deep and tight bass response for its size. The Kii Audio BXT system sounds different from the Kii Three alone. You might expect the sound to be roughly the same, with only deeper or more powerful bass and perhaps higher volume capability. However, things are completely different. The reproduction of the Kii Audio BXT system is of an entirely different order. The soundstage is larger, more refined, and far more natural. There's enormous calm to it. Everything flows effortlessly, which is quite a significant difference from the Kii Three without BXT. You yourself become calmer. Distortion in the bass is even a factor of 10 lower than in the Kii Three. Technically everything checks out, and in terms of listening (emotion/goosebumps), there's essentially nothing left to desire. Of course, you should expect this for a system of this price, but we know plenty of speakers costing 2 or 3 times more that don't achieve this without a complete installation in addition. The Kii Audio BXT system, like the Kii Three, is completely unique in concept and sound, and both systems are standard demonstration units at Ohm Audio.
