Technology: The Magnepan LRS+ is designed with high-end equipment to optimize sound quality. It is a 2-way Quasi Ribbon speaker, just like the MG.7, but in a smaller and more user-friendly format. The Magnepan LRS+ performs excellently with many amplifiers, but is actually designed to work with high-quality equipment. Only with a truly high-quality setup will you hear what the Magnepan LRS+ is truly capable of. That said, you can still enjoy a lot of musical pleasure listening to the Magnepan LRS+ through, for example, a receiver. The cabinet of the Magnepan LRS+ is sturdy and stable. On the feet you will find optional brackets with which you can tilt the Magnepan LRS+ a bit more upright if you sit closer to it. By itself, the Magnepan LRS+, like the LRS, tilts slightly backward.

Listening: The Magnepan LRS+ takes the quality of the regular LRS and then goes one step further. The difference is immediately noticeable right out of the box! The soundstage is astonishingly 3D and the placement is nothing short of extremely accurate. Like the LRS and the rest of Magnepan's line-up, the LRS+ has a very open character. The bass is just a bit fuller, still beautifully tight and defined, nothing to complain about. The main difference with the LRS is that the LRS+ sounds even more musical and detailed. It costs a bit more than the regular LRS, but in our opinion it's more than worth it!
