General: The D-TC Gold Signature series from Ansuz Acoustics is among the best of the best available on the market. The Main8 D-TC Gold Signature is no exception to this; it is the flagship power distributor model of the Danish brand Ansuz Acoustics. The Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature features the latest techniques from Ansuz and provides the most noise reduction of all Mainz8 models.

Technology: The Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature is in its own class compared to the more affordable Mainz8 models. Also regarding musicality compared to power conditioners and distributors from other brands, the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature performs at an exceptional level. What makes the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature more musical than the models below it, including the € 42.000,- priced Mainz8 D-TC3 Supreme, is, in addition to the greater amount of noise reduction of course, the use of gold in the signal path. The Gold Signature series also owes its name to this. That gold has a musical quality has been known for quite a number of years, but the way Ansuz Acoustics applies gold in its products is unique. The Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature also features the greatest amount of noise cancelling techniques of all Mainz8 models. There are as many as 18 Active Zirkonium Tesla Coils installed, no less than 6 times as many as the models below it. Furthermore, there are 94 Active Square Tesla Coils on the circuit board, 8 pieces Analog Dither Circuitry, 32 Active Tesla Coils, 27 Active Cable Tesla Coils and 27 Gold Anti Aerial Resonance Coils. The internal wiring consists of conductors with a solid copper core which is then extensively silver-plated and subsequently gold-plated. The complete outer layer is thus pure gold, no mixture. The Ansuz Gold Signature equipment and cabling owes its unique and extremely musical character to this and this also ensures a major distinction from all other equipment and cabling from Ansuz Acoustics which have silver-plated conductors without gold. The way Ansuz Acoustics tackles noise does not cause a restriction in the power signal so you don't suffer from loss of dynamics. Large power amplifiers can safely be connected to the Mainz8 models from Ansuz Acoustics. This is because the Noise Cancelling is parallel to the signal path instead of the signal having to pass through an inductive separation transformer or filter circuit. So you have less inductance in the signal path and thus no brake that limits the speed at which an amplifier draws current. Even the heaviest power amplifiers and monoblocs sound better and more dynamic on an Ansuz Mainz8 model compared to being connected directly to a wall outlet. If you connect your amplifier to a wall outlet and you have a rougher sound which people might describe as "dynamic", but actually it is pure restlessness. With an Ansuz Mainz8 between the wall outlet and the equipment, including the amplifiers, details are easier to hear, there is more depth and the layers in the recording are clearer to perceive. An additional technique in the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature is that there are Zirkonium Ansuz Darkz decouplers inside underneath the circuit boards for internal resonance control. The Ansuz Darkz are discs with tungsten balls in between, these ensure that vibrations from the circuit board are properly dissipated and no new vibrations come in. As a result, the internal circuit boards do not suffer from resonance which provides a tighter, more refined and more musical sound.

Noise: Noise is a component in the current which you don't want in your hifi and video equipment. The noise leaks through the power supply towards the sensitive electronics and disrupts its optimal operation. The less noise, the better for sound quality. Of course, by noise we don't mean the static white noise that comes out of your speakers as a hiss; the high-frequency signal noise we're talking about you really only hear once you remove it, then the music becomes more intelligible and there is less compression in the sound so it doesn't press as much on the ears and thus doesn't dull as much, the less noise, the more music remains. Power supplies nowadays are a source of high-frequency interference components, caused by the omnipresent radiation in the air. Think of 3G, 4G, 5G, DECT, Radar, Transmitter masts, Wifi and so on. The Ansuz Mainz8 models have techniques that counteract this noise, the more of these techniques, the more effective; more expensive models have more and different techniques on board and perform even better. Enclosure: The enclosure of the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature is made of a natural composite material which provides a more natural sound compared to aluminum. Furthermore, the bottom plate is a sandwich design of 2 plates of solid titanium with a layer of compact laminate in between. This bottom plate provides improved resonance control compared to a direct connection to the ground. The feet under the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature are designed to stand on Ansuz Acoustics Darkz decouplers, these decouplers provide even better musical reproduction and we recommend looking at (eventually) a set of Ansuz Darkz to place under the Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature to make full use of the musical potential. The top is finished with a leather top with the Ansuz Acoustics logo and the signatures of designers Michael Børresen and Flemming Rasmussen processed in a golden color. The total is a good-sounding, low-resonance and stylish organic enclosure which looks good in practically any serious high end installation.

Sound: What the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature does with the sound is pure magic. Immediately after connecting you experience more peace, better intelligibility and more fine dynamics. As soon as something happens in the recording, it intrigues you and touches you. There is also suddenly enormous depth and silence in the soundstage between the speakers, as if the space in which your system is located has grown. The sound becomes more natural and organic, and it also flows more and sits rhythmically better together. The tonal balance between the highs and midtones and the bass is more harmonious and coherent. The end result is more musicality and a sound that can be played much louder before it becomes unpleasant because there is less compression and resonance present. Also interesting when using Ansuz D-TC Gold Signature cabling and equipment, including this Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature, is that even lesser quality recordings suddenly contain music. Of course, the Ansuz Mainz8 D-TC Gold Signature won't magically make a poor recording good, but we've noticed that many recordings of lesser recording quality suddenly contain music. Where previously we only found the music wonderful, but the recording was the limiting factor to enjoy it on a high end system, the application of the Ansuz D-TC Gold Signature cabling and equipment meant that we now discovered musicality and listening pleasure in much of our less well-recorded favorite music. Furthermore, the definition and authenticity are simply much better than many other power distributors and conditioners.
