Gigawatt : The Powerconditioners, Powercords and Power Accessories from the Polish brand Gigawatt are among the best on the market. The finish and build quality is exceptionally good and sound-wise it is very musical. The price/quality ratio of Gigawatt products is better than that of the competition. Gigawatt's Powerconditioners and Powerfilters are passive and allow the current to flow unimpeded from point A to point B. No galvanic isolation like isolation transformers that slow down the dynamics and no fuses that act as a 'bottleneck' in the signal path. Instead, Gigawatt uses only the best, carefully selected filter components to clean up the power signal without negatively affecting the dynamics. Even in the larger Powerconditioners, AC buffer systems are built in to improve dynamics, where most filters make the sound quieter, but also "slow down" the sound, Gigawatt does not do this. In fact, Gigawatt equipment ensures better defined dynamics compared to unfiltered power outlets. Gigawatt is a no-nonsense company, no voodoo and inexplicable pseudo science. General : The Gigawatt PowerMaster is Gigawatt's latest creation and also the very best they have to offer. A true flagship model with years of experience in manufacturing power supply equipment for high-end audio built in. The Gigawatt PowerMaster has a C19 input and 12 outputs which are divided into 3 zones. The intention is to use 1 zone for high current equipment such as amplifiers, subwoofers and active speakers, 1 zone for constant current analog equipment such as preamps, turntables and phono preamps, and one zone for digital equipment such as streamers, D/A converters, televisions and mastercocks.

Technical : The Gigawatt PowerMaster is equipped with the best filter components which are specially made to Gigawatt's specifications by Miflex. What is special about the distribution inside the PowerMaster is the two-stage power distribution system developed by Gigawatt itself. This dual power distribution system is done by enormous, massive oxygen-free copper and then silver-plated distribution bars with no less than 90mm² cross section. These distribution bars ensure that the current is conducted and distributed unimpeded and equally over the 3 output zones. Each output zone has its own filter block, so the zones have no interference with each other. From the filter block, the power signal goes via 4mm² solidcore, Teflon-shielded oxygen-free copper conductors to the silver-plated outputs. The PCBs are very strong and the signal paths on the PCBs are extremely wide and thick for optimal signal transmission. The housing is made of solid aluminum and sits on Gigawatt's newest Full Ceramic Isolation System. These are decoupling feet with zirconium balls and rings to dissipate vibrations for more stable reproduction.

Furthermore, the Gigawatt PowerMaster has a protection system for your precious audio equipment. Protection is not done by poor-sounding fuses, but by high-quality varistors. Varistors are variable resistances. If the current behaves normally, the varistors provide virtually no resistance, so the current is not slowed down. In case of overvoltage or short circuit, the resistance of the varistors will increase significantly to allow as little overvoltage as possible to leak to your system. On the back is a hydraulic and magnetic switch/circuit breaker which is manufactured by Carling Technologies to Gigawatt's specifications. On the front is a very precise Voltage meter behind a scratch-resistant 9H ceramic glass plate, very handy. For those who don't like displays, the Voltage meter can also be easily switched off.

Listening : The Gigawatt PowerMaster is clearly the best product Gigawatt has brought to market so far. The step from the former top model, the PC-4 Evo+, is clearly audible. The spatial imaging is unprecedented large and transparent and very precisely organized. The bass is tighter and better defined, and the music simply sounds more 'live'. General Effect Gigawatt Powerfilter/Powerconditioner : The Gigawatt PowerMaster is clearly the best product Gigawatt has brought to market so far. Gigawatt powerconditioners have the property of removing electromagnetic interference and other types of noise from the dirty power grid. This pulls a curtain in front of the soundstage away and the soundstage will therefore open up more. The spatial imaging is less cloudy and sharpness/restlessness is reduced. This results in more nuance, better intelligibility, less listening fatigue and thus a more beautiful and engaging reproduction. Very heavy power amplifiers can certainly be connected to Gigawatt Powerfilters and Powerconditioners, since Gigawatt equipment does not slow down the current and the Powerconditioners even have a buffer system on board, the dynamics are not undermined as is often claimed about power filters. On the contrary, Gigawatt powerconditioners improve dynamics, they just let it sound more natural and refined, read: less harsh. Unfortunately, many people are used to listening to an restless-sounding system because restlessness and noise are experienced as spectacle or dynamics, but it remains restlessness, and that causes listening fatigue and you miss a lot of information from the recording with it.
