General: The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is designed as the ultimate Reference 3 Zone Power Conditioner with 12 outputs. It is the largest and heaviest power conditioner from Gigawatt and features the most advanced power filtering circuits available, while also protecting your valuable music system against overload. It is the perfect power supply for even the most extensive Hi-Fi, High-End and Video installation. Unlike the Power Plants of some competitors, the Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ itself consumes very little power, only a few watts. A competitor Power Plant that needs to deliver 500 Watt consumes around 500 Watt itself, together 1000 watts, gets hot, and wears out. Your Gigawatt Evo series Power Conditioner does not have this problem, consumes virtually no power and has minimal wear.

Technology:

The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is equipped with advanced, in-house made, Multi Stage Parallel filters (High Flux Filtering Cores) instead of the usual transformers.

This Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is also equipped with 3 separate zones. A separate zone for Digital devices (CD players, DA Converters, Streamers), a separate zone for low power Analog (Preamps, Phono Preamps, Turntables) and a separate zone for High Power Analog (Amplifiers, Power Amplifiers). The advantage of this is that the connected devices can no longer influence each other. A power amplifier tends to feed power back into the network, and this is prevented in this way. The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is made of very high quality components. Due to the new high efficiency filter circuits, the components are mounted on new boards, soldered with silver solder.

The circuit boards themselves are double-sided, and equipped with 550 um thick copper traces which are silver-plated. Power distribution is via heavy polished and silver-plated copper bars and the internal wiring is made of silver-plated OFC copper, insulated with teflon, from the Gigawatt LC-2 Evo Power Cord. The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ has a special protection system, designed without wires or fuses. Fuses impair signal speed and are therefore not used. The overvoltage protection circuit is controlled by a sensor at the input and is equipped with a Plasma relay. This way the Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ offers your system excellent protection against overvoltage or power surges.

Proper operation of the Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is indicated by an LED Voltage Display on the front. This shows the incoming voltage exactly. The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is also equipped with an extra circuit that monitors the power supply. Also very useful is the Phase indication, by means of a red LED on the back. If this is lit, the PC-4 Evo+ is connected incorrectly and you must turn the power plug around. This ensures your system is always connected to the correct phase and the Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ functions as it should. The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ has power distribution bars made of solid OFC copper, which are then silver-plated and polished. The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is equipped with 12 high quality Gigawatt G-040 Schuko outlets. These outlets are equipped with heavy brass bars, which are silver-plated and polished at Gigawatt. The large contact surface and the heavy silver layer guarantee a very long lifespan, even with repeated plugging and unplugging of the connectors.

The Gigawatt PC-4 Evo+ is built in a heavy and stable Aluminium housing, has a solid anodized aluminum front, and stands on new ball bearing feet.

DC Blocker Board: Previously the DC Blocker was an option for the PC-4 Evo+ Power Conditioner. This DC Blocker (DCB) is now standard built into the PC-4 Evo+. A DCB removes the last traces of DC components from the power. Despite the fact that we use 230 Volt AC in the Netherlands, there is often still a few volts of DC in the supplied power. Your equipment can react poorly to this. The transformer can start to hum, and your Hi-Fi equipment can also behave restlessly. A DC Blocker Board removes the DC components from the power so your Hi-Fi equipment performs optimally. Incidentally, an isolation transformer does this very well too, but an isolation transformer is an interruption of the signal path which results in inferior sound reproduction in our opinion.

Power Buffer: In addition to the fast and compact power storage technology used in the PF-1 and PF-2 Power Strips and the PC-1 Evo, the PC-4 Evo+ has 3 additional large storage buffers (Double Buffer High Capacity Power Banks). The largest of all Gigawatt power conditioners. Each zone has its own buffers. The big advantage is an extra increased speed and power for your connected equipment, and an even better separation between the 3 zones. The PC-4 Evo+ sounds cleaner, more open and more powerful as a result.
