General: The Gigawatt PF-2 SE Evo+ is a Special Edition further development of the already excellent Gigawatt PF-2 Evo+ filtered powerstrip.

Technology: The Gigawatt PF-2 SE Evo+ features the best technology Gigawatt from Poland could fit into a compact powerstrip. First and foremost, it is important that current flows unrestricted from the input to the outputs. For this, Gigawatt uses very pure and wide signal paths. The internal wiring is star-wired and consists of 4mm² solid-core silver-plated conductors. The signal paths on the circuit boards are also extremely wide and pure, and as the crowning touch, the outputs are connected with massive silver-plated copper distribution bars of 30mm². Therefore, the SE version contains considerably more silver-plating compared to the standard PF-2 Evo+ version. The outputs themselves are the G-040, Gigawatt's own development and production. These outputs feature solid brass contacts which are extensively silver-plated for optimal contact, a very low-loss method of signal transmission that also firmly grips the Schuko connectors of the powercords. The maximum output power of the Gigawatt PF-2 SE Evo+ is therefore simply 3.680 Watts, the maximum our power grid can deliver. What goes in also comes out. You can therefore confidently connect heavy power amplifiers, subwoofers and active speakers to the Gigawatt PF-2 SE Evo+.

The filtering in the Gigawatt PF-2 SE Evo+ is well-designed. It is an RLC filter block with an iron powder filter core and capacitors with very low inductance. The capacitors used are specially manufactured to Gigawatt's specifications by Miflex. Several of the filter technologies in the PF-2 SE Evo+ are also found in Gigawatt's more expensive and better PC model power conditioners. Protection for your audio set is not provided by fuses, as these create enormous resistance in the signal path. Protection against short circuits and overvoltage is provided by plasma sparks and a new generation of UltraMOV varistors. Varistors are variable resistors; during normal current use, they have virtually no negative effect on the signal, but in the event of a short circuit or overvoltage, the resistance of the varistors increases significantly, causing much less current to leak to your set. This means your set is optimally protected without current being restricted. The housing is a double metal enclosure for optimal shielding against external RFI/EMI. There are 2 LEDs on the housing, one white and one red. The white LED indicates correct operation of the powerstrip, the red LED indicates whether the powerstrip is connected with correct phase or not. The red LED should be off; then the PF-2 SE Evo+ is correctly phase-connected.

Listening: Of the PF-2 models Gigawatt has produced over the years, the PF-2 SE Evo+ is by far the most transparent, dynamic, detailed and spatial-sounding version. The PF-2 Evo+ version already sets new standards in its price class with very good performance, but this SE version takes a significant step further. It is clearly audible that the filter consists of better components, the noise floor is even lower, the background is quieter and the presentation is cleaner and more organized. And the improved internal wiring and distribution bars also provide for a more transparent, more energetic and freer presentation. The beauty of the Gigawatt PF-2 SE Evo+ is that it improves the music in 2 ways, and those are:

1: The sharp edges are removed from the sound and the sound is better balanced, resulting in less listening fatigue.

2: Despite the music being quieter and more pleasant to listen to, the amount of detail increases. The music is easier to understand because it is less compressed/muddy due to a lot of noise being removed from the signal and the signal being transmitted more freely.

Supplied Power Cord: You have a choice of 2 different reference powercords with the PF-2 SE Evo+, either the PowerSync Ultra or the LS-1 Evo+. The Gigawatt PowerSync Ultra is a thick but flexible cable with semi-solid-core copper conductors and rhodium connectors, this cable sounds spatial and refined in a pleasant way. The LS-1 Evo+ is a hand-built powercord from Poland with solid-core silver-plated conductors, NCF technology and rhodium connectors, this cable sounds tighter, more expressive and more open. Specify in the options which powercord you want.
