Technology: The Kii Three is the masterpiece of Belgian designer Bruno Putzeys. It is a compact loudspeaker that is truly packed with modern technology. What is very special about the Kii Three is the phase-correct reproduction, without timing errors. You won't easily achieve this with a conventional loudspeaker, and certainly not as tight as with this Kii Three. The phase behavior is nearly perfect across the entire frequency band. But the most remarkable thing about the Kii Three is still the bass radiation. With every conventional loudspeaker, passive or active, the bass, roughly speaking below 200Hz, radiates around into the room. These bass tones reflect off walls, floors, and ceilings, and strengthen and weaken the bass, depending on where you stand. In one spot the bass is too heavy, a meter further away the bass is completely gone. The Kii Three completely eliminates this problem. With the Kii Three, the bass is also radiated forward down to about 40Hz. However, this is not a simple solution. The Kii Three is a 3-way loudspeaker, equipped with a very powerful DSP, 6 separate D/A Converters, one for each loudspeaker unit, and 6 analog Purifi power amplifiers of 240 Watts each. Each Kii Three thus has 1,440 Watts of amplifiers on board. This is necessary to make each unit work together with the other units without timing errors and phase shifts. This solution is also necessary to be able to control the reproduction below 200Hz. You preferably connect the Kii Three via the Kii Control, to your Streamer, such as for example the excellent Antipodes streamers, directly via USB, or your Sonos Connect via Spdif, but there are also analog inputs available. You can then connect the Kii Three to your analog preamplifier. Via the Controller, the digital signal runs over a UTP cable to one speaker and then via a UTP cable through to the other speaker. Connect the power cable and play away. The design of the Kii Three is unique and very special, and you can hear that well too.

The Kii Three can be completely tuned to the room by means of pro filters and DSP control. The Kii Three will thus perform well in every room, large or small.

Listening: The Kii Three is excellently suited for placement in virtually any room we know. Because the Kii Three barely involves the room in the music reproduction, we can achieve optimal results in almost any location. The first thing that stands out is the bass reproduction. This is very deep and beautifully pure, and without overhang. The bass starts and stops very quickly and is perceivable everywhere in the room. The second thing that stands out is the dynamics. You can really play quite loudly with the Kii Three. Hard to believe that this impressive sound image comes from this compact loudspeaker. Taps on a drum kit sound lifelike in your living room. The third thing that stands out is the purity of the system. The Kii Three sounds very clean, without sounding glassy. It doesn't matter whether you're playing Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock or, as far as we're concerned, extremely hard Metal or Dubstep, the Kii Three swallows it all without protest. We know of no other compact loudspeaker that performs like this. The voice reproduction is also of a really very good quality. If you take the purchase price into account, with the D/A Converters, preamplifier, and 6 power amplifiers already built in, this is an absolutely favorable purchase. Many high-end loudspeaker systems get worried with so many musical qualities.
