General: The Hifi Rose RSA720 Optical USB Hub is an ideal way to clean the USB signal from your streamer or from a USB storage location before it enters your DAC. The Hifi Rose RSA720 is also ideal for connecting to a USB port for USB storage devices that may be attached to your device. The Hifi Rose RSA720 is designed to eliminate vibrations and electronic noise from a USB source and thus ensure a clean signal to the DAC. Additionally, with the Hifi Rose RSA720 you have access to multiple USB ports in case you want to connect multiple USB sources. In combination with the Hifi Rose RS130, you can also use the optical fiber USB 3.0 connection for a completely cleaned signal that can also travel extremely long distances without loss. Use: We used the Hifi Rose RSA720 to play music from a USB stick and USB SSD or HDD that had music stored on it. For example, with an Antipodes server or an Axxess Forté or Aavik streamer which have a USB port where USB storage can be connected. This way there is no USB storage directly connected to the server/streamer/amplifier so it doesn't need to power the USB storage and is not affected by vibrations from the drive. Additionally, the signal is also cleaned by the RSA720, which makes listening to music from a USB storage location noticeably improved.

As a second method, you can also use the Hifi Rose RSA between your streamer or PC and your DAC. A digital source such as a streamer or a PC generates noise while processing the bits, which then ends up in the audio signal and eventually reaches your DAC. Via a USB cable goes an audio signal, not literally ones and zeros moving in a row from one connector to another connector. Digital signals are also susceptible to noise. Run a USB cable from your streamer or PC into the Hifi Rose RSA720, and with a second USB cable from the RSA720 through to the USB input of your DAC.

Listening: With the Hifi Rose RSA720 in the USB signal path you clearly hear more peace in the sound. The soundstage sounds more organized and there is more air in the music and more space between the foreground and background. This makes the Hifi Rose RSA720 an optimal upgrade between your streamer and DAC, but also an extremely handy device to have if you have multiple USB storage locations you want to play music from, and there is only 1 USB storage input on your DAC/Amplifier. The sound of the Hifi Rose RSA720 can also be further improved by purchasing a good external power supply such as an iFi Audio or SBooster.
