General : The RS520 is the latest model from Korean brand Hifi Rose. The Hifi Rose RS520 is a single device with the functionality of a complete hifi set and even goes one step further!

Technology : The first thing that stands out is the stylish design and the large touchscreen display on the front. The IPS technology of this screen ensures realistic color reproduction and a wide viewing angle, which means the display is easy to read from many different angles. Above the screen you will find a power button and volume control, although you will generally use the bluetooth remote control or the app to adjust the volume.

The display of the Hifi Rose RS520 gives a luxurious appearance, and the build quality and operation of the Hifi Rose RS520 feel the same way. The chassis is made of one thick piece of aluminum which feels solid and also reduces resonance. Anyone can take the Hifi Rose with them on the go, and yet the software has a luxurious appearance. The Hifi Rose RS520 is versatile, so it can be used as a Music Server, Music & Video (up to 4K) Streamer, DAC and integrated amplifier with impressive power of 2 x 250 Watts, allowing virtually all speakers to be driven with ease. The Hifi Rose RS520 can be equipped with an SSD drive to store music, and an SSD drive of up to 4TB can be installed in a simple way. The Hifi Rose RS520 can also retrieve music from external network locations such as a NAS or NUC and it is also possible to play music from an external USB storage location such as a Hard Drive or USB stick.

The DAC used in the Hifi Rose RS520 is a high-quality DAC with ESS Sabre ES9038PRO chips that can play 768KHz/32bit PCM and DSD512 files. It also features a built-in MQA decoder so you can also play High Res MQA files from Tidal. The PCBs are efficiently designed and developed to prevent noise, which provides cleaner sound reproduction with less interference.

Functionality : The Hifi Rose RS520 comes standard with several commonly used applications installed. The following applications are present : Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, RoseTube (YouTube with only music). The Hifi Rose RS520 is also RoonReady and can therefore be placed behind a Roon Server as a player. These apps can be controlled directly via the touchscreen on the front but of course also via the HiFi Rose app called 'Rose Connect' on your phone or tablet. You can also control the Hifi Rose RS520 with the included remote control. The display is fully customizable, so you can have the display show multiple things. For example, you can fully dim the display, you can play YouTube videos from it, but you can also set the display to show VU-meters where you can choose the color yourself. The appearance of the display can thus be adapted to your personal preferences. Via the HDMI connection you can connect the Hifi Rose RS520 directly to a television, so concerts from YouTube really come to life, you can output videos up to 4K resolution to the television at 60 FPS no less. Thanks to the many digital inputs and outputs, the RS520 can also be used as a standalone server/streamer or as a D/A Converter for, for example, a CD player or Blu Ray player. Internet radio and podcasts can also be played by the Hifi Rose RS520. Hifi Rose also makes a CD drive/ripper, the Hifi Rose RSA780, with which you can rip CDs to add them to the optional internal SSD, or you can play the CDs directly.

Due to the ease of use and the ability to play virtually all file formats from almost all possible sources, it is truly a jack-of-all-trades.
