General: The Atacama Apollo Storm 3 is a compact and stylish hifi rack for smaller audio and video equipment. The rack is finished to a high standard with solid oak wood shelves, available in either a light oak finish or a dark oak finish. These shelves are supported by sturdy hollow steel tubes, available in black or white. Because the tubes are hollow, you have the option to fill them to eliminate resonances. We sell Norstone Metal Beads or Atacama Atabites for this purpose, which are specially developed filling materials with excellent resonance properties for optimal musical performance. As a more affordable solution, you can of course also simply fill the tubes with sand or gravel. Each module stands on 4 tubes which have sharp spikes at the bottom, each shelf in turn has 4 dimples in the corners where the spikes of the shelf above can be placed. The end result is a solid and stable structure. Because it is an open rack on all sides, you can easily access the back of the rack for cable connections, and as an added benefit, everything has good ventilation compared to a closed cabinet, allowing any heat from equipment to disperse easily.
