Technology: The Bricasti M19 was developed by Bricasti Design with 2 goals in mind: simplicity and optimal sound quality. The Bricasti M19 is truly a no-nonsense device—simply place your CD or SACD and enjoy. It is a pure digital CD/SACD transport without a built-in DAC, without USB input for USB drives, and software-wise the M19 was also developed with simplicity in mind. For example, the Bricasti M19 does not use upsampling. Precisely because of this simplicity, the signal remains as pure as possible, which ensures optimal sound quality. The power supply used in the Bricasti M19 is very special. It consists of 2 individual massive oversized toroidal transformers of medical quality. One of these transformers powers the mechanical components such as the motor and loader, while the other transformer powers the digital components related to the signal path. An ideal separation between mechanical and digital components, resulting in a low noise level and no interference between the two types of components. The signal paths in the Bricasti M19 are pure and short, allowing minimal electromagnetic interference to be picked up that would compromise the audio signal. The Bricasti M19 CD/SACD player can be used with SPDIF Coax or AES/EBU XLR as digital output, with SACDs transmitted via DoP (DSD over PCM) to the DAC. There is also an I²S RJ45 output available for use with Bricasti D/A Converters; Bricasti Design DACs can be ordered with an I²S output, and older Bricasti DACs can also be retrofitted with an I²S output as an upgrade. SACDs over I²S are output as Native DSD, and this is the most optimal connection to use for people with a Bricasti DAC. Like all other Bricasti Design equipment, the M19 is housed in a CNC-milled aluminum enclosure, available in the sleek Classic or fresh gray Argento finish. Bricasti equipment is extremely reliable and lasts an incredibly long time.

Listening: The way of working and thinking in developing the Bricasti M19 pays dividends. Due to the very simple design and use of high-quality components, the signal remains pure, and that is how the Bricasti M19 sounds: pure. The sound is extremely neutral and honest, the sound is spot-on. Whether it's the tight, rhythmic and resonance-free bass reproduction, or the realism of voices and acoustic instruments. Yet you shouldn't expect bare, cold or analytical sound; emotional transfer is definitely present. There's really not much more to say—the Bricasti M19 is sonically and technically simply a true high-end device and belongs among the best CD/SACD transports currently available.
