ENG.
General : Bricasti from the USA originally manufactures digital high-end products for the professional world. The Bricasti M1 SE is the SE version of the M1 Classic, the first in a series of high-end products from the manufacturer. It is one of the first fully dual mono constructed DA Converters in the world.
Technology : The Bricasti M1 SE MDx is built with CNC milled aluminum sections and heavy aluminum plates. You will find no sheet metal here, only resonance-free plates. Even the top and bottom plates are milled. Everything to improve sound quality. All parts are heavily anodized and labeled with laser inscription. Built to ultra-high standards with a very long service life. The Bricasti M1 SE MDx is a fully dual mono and dual DAC constructed DA Converter. That means truly 2 mono 24-bit PCM and 2 discrete DSD DA Converters in one housing. Via remote control there are over 10 different digital filters available, including the latest Apodizing Filters (Minimum Phase) and faster linear filters. The Bricasti M1 locks on all frequencies from 16-bit 44.1 kHz to 24-bit 384 kHz and on 256 DSD and DXD files. Various digital inputs are available. AES/EBU, Toslink, SPDIF, BNC, and USB 2.0. The analog output stage is a pure class A discrete output stage built on expensive Arlon boards. It is set to 2 volts as standard, but the jumper can also be moved so that the output voltage of the balanced output is adjustable from 0.5 volts to 17 volts. An excellent clock is also used for the conversion. An ultra-low 6 picosecond jitter value is the result.
Sound : The Bricasti M1 SE MDx is a DA Converter of the highest quality. The new MDx digital input board, with its much more powerful processor and better clock, is a real sonic improvement. This board can be installed in any M1 or M1 SE, by the way. The sound of the Bricasti M1 SE is completely analog, with no trace of digital harshness. With the MDx board, the sound has become somewhat faster and more dynamic and also noticeably more open. The soundstage is enormous and exciting. There's a lot going on. The rendering of voices is also very special. Pure in structure and very precise placement. The artists appear live before you. Very special. It is increasingly noticed that you no longer listen to the technology, but are only concerned with the performance of the performers.
Difference Bricasti M1 and M1 SE :
- The M1 SE has Stillpoints feet, the M1 has regular aluminum feet
- The M1 SE has some cable connections that are soldered instead of plug connections, furthermore more use is made of point to point wiring
- The M1 SE has newer and better capacitors in the power supply circuit
