The Bricasti M-25 is the new Dual Mono stereo power amplifier from Bricasti. The M-25 is completely unique in both sound and technology and is positioned between the M-15 and the M-28 monoblocks.

General:

Bricasti USA manufactures high-end audio equipment for studios. There is a good chance that you own CDs or LPs that were mixed using Bricasti equipment. Especially their digital reverb processors are world-renowned. For about 10 years, Bricasti has also been making high-end equipment for the home. The first product was the highly-praised M-1 DSD/PCM DA Converter. The world's first Dual Mono DA Converter capable of decoding all digital signals. The second Bricasti product is the M-28 Mono Power Amplifier. After that came the M-1 SE, the M-5 Streamer, the M-12 Source Controller, and of course the superbly sounding M-15 Power Amplifier. We present to you the new Bricasti M-25, the Dual Mono version of the Bricasti M-15. The Bricasti M-25 is the challenger to other top stereo power amplifiers such as the Soulution 710, the Spectral DMA300RS, the Mark Levinson 532, and other premium power amplifiers.

Technology:

The M-25 is derived from the exclusive and outstanding Bricasti M-15 Stereo Amplifier and the M-28 monoblocks. The M-25 is primarily the Dual Mono and more powerful version of the M-15. This begins with the M-25's chassis. The chassis is the foundation upon which everything is built. The Bricasti M-25 is entirely built from CNC-milled aluminum plates. This chassis is completely resonance-free and extremely stable, which provides significant sonic advantages. This is often overlooked, but vibrations cause changing sound quality and must be avoided. The Bricasti M-25 is then equipped with 2 enormous power supplies, completely separate, individually regulated, and providing each section with its own independently regulated power line. The Bricasti M-25 itself is built entirely balanced, from input to output. The output power may seem modest—150 watts per channel at 8 ohms—but the Bricasti M-25 is suitable for all speakers, even those with difficult impedance. At 2 ohms, the Bricasti M-25 continuously delivers 2 x 600 watts, and you will be amazed by the power output and the ease with which this power is delivered. You can therefore also drive extremely difficult speakers. The chassis remains sufficiently cool under all conditions.

Power and current settings:

The Bricasti M-25 can be configured in 4 ways.

1. Completely off, main power button off. Unit is fully shut down. Consumption: 0 watts

2. Standby minimal. Main power button on. LED blinks briefly. Consumption: 1 watt

3. Standby normal. Main power button on. LED blinks slowly. Consumption: 80 watts.

4. On. LED lights continuously. Idle consumption: 170 watts. Unit plays music.

Inputs:

The Bricasti M-25 naturally has XLR inputs, and in this case they are true balanced inputs. After all, the Bricasti M-25 is completely balanced from input to output. A set of RCA inputs is also available. If you wish to use the RCA inputs, jumpers must be placed in the XLR input to prevent part of the amplifier from being bypassed. The Bricasti M-25 has an adjustable, relay-controlled input sensitivity circuit, allowing you to optimize each stage in 3 steps of 6dB. The Bricasti M-25 sits on special Stillpoints feet with ball decoupling.

Listening: The Bricasti M-25 has a clearly noticeable natural and analog character, and virtually no signature "sound". The Single PSU M15 has all audiophile qualities such as openness, 3D soundstage, speed and purity, and a glowing bass presentation, but achieves this without imprinting its own stamp on the sound. The Bricasti M-25 essentially sounds the same, but has somewhat more power and dynamics, leaning more toward the M-28 monoblocks. The Bricasti M-25 does not follow the trend of trying to sound as bright and fast as possible, where the result is that the reproduction sounds glassy, thin, and sometimes even downright aggressive. With Bricasti amplifiers, it's not about how much bass they produce or how dynamic they are—no, it's about how these amplifiers render the music. An outstanding sound system gives you music that embraces you, not sound that attacks you. But dynamically, the M-25 really holds its own. Extraordinarily well.
