GENERAL.

General: Bricasti USA has been manufacturing high-end audio equipment for studios for many years. There is a good chance that you own CDs or LPs that were mixed using Bricasti reverb equipment. In particular, their digital reverb processors are world-renowned. For the past decade or so, Bricasti has also been making high-end equipment for the home. The first product is the highly acclaimed M1 and M1SE DSD/PCM DA Converter. The first fully dual-mono DA converter capable of decoding all digital signals in the world. The second high-end product from Bricasti is the M28 Mono power amplifier. These Bricasti M28s are 2021 models with slight modifications, including improved power supply.

Technology: The M28 has been completely redesigned from the ground up with the goal of building the ideal power amplifier. This starts with the M28 housing. The housing is the foundation everything is built on. The Bricasti M28 is entirely constructed from solid milled aluminum plates 2cm thick. This housing is completely resonance-free, and therefore extremely stable—something you can hear. The Bricasti M28 also sits on Stillpoint feet for optimal isolation from the floor. Each Bricasti M28 is equipped with a massive power supply, discretely regulated, and provides every section of the amplifier with its own independently regulated power line. The M28 itself is completely balanced throughout, from input to output. Balanced connection is therefore a must. The output power is a generous and very stable 200 watts per channel at 8 ohms, and the M28 operates up to 20 watts in pure Class A. The Bricasti M28 is suitable for virtually all speakers in the world, as it depends on current delivery. You can therefore also drive so-called difficult speakers. The housing remains sufficiently cool under all circumstances thanks to its enormous cooling surface area. The speaker terminals are also a proprietary development. Pure solid copper and gold-plated terminals that work and sound fantastic.

Regarding on and off, the Bricasti M28 can be set in 4 different ways.

Power Off: Completely off, consumption 0 watts

Standby: Off, remotely switchable, Low Bias, consumption 1 watt

Standby Music Mode: Off, remotely switchable, High Bias, consumption 125 watts

On: On, High Bias, Consumption 125 watts Idle

Another nice feature of the Bricasti M28 is the adjustable input sensitivity. The M28 has an adjustable input circuit with relays, allowing each preamplifier to be optimally connected in 3 steps of 6dB. This provides an excellent combination, especially with the Bricasti M1 or M1SE, but also with preamps with high output voltage.

Listening: The Bricasti M28 has a directly perceptible natural and analog sound, and essentially no signature of its own. The M28 naturally has all audiophile qualities such as openness, 3D imaging, speed and purity, and a glowing bass presentation, but does so without imprinting its own signature on the sound. Bricasti does not follow the trend of trying to sound as bright and fast as possible, or achieve the lowest possible distortion, which often results in a sterile, thin, and sometimes downright aggressive sound. An excellent sound system gives you music that embraces you, not sound that attacks you. The Bricasti M28 combines this fantastic quality with the audiophile characteristics of other modern top amplifiers. Once accustomed to these qualities, you notice that many high-end transistor amplifiers simply don't sound good. Turn up the volume on the Bricasti M28, and a thundering wall of sound unfolds. Quite extraordinary and in our view completely unique. Comparisons with tube amplifiers and Bricasti are often made, and we can understand that. Good tube amplifiers also never sound hard, only musical. Bricasti possesses this quality as well.

Conclusion: The Bricasti M28 power amplifiers are completely neutral and highly musical power amplifiers, suitable for all speakers in the world, suitable for evening after evening of music listening without listening fatigue, but with lots of enjoyment.
