The Lector Audio VM-200M is the monoblock version of the VM-200. The VM-200M is a prime example of a perfectly executed power amplifier. Powerful and very musical. The natural sound of these power amplifiers stems from its special design. The VM-200M has only 2 stages from input to output, which is unique. These stages, the driver stage and the power stage, each have their own power supplies including their own transformer. The driver stage itself consists of a PCL86 vacuum triode tube for driving the Mosfet power bank. This tube in turn drives the Mosfet bank. Up to 20 watts, the Lector VM-200M operates entirely in pure Class A. The output power is a stable 2 x 115 watts at 8 ohms and 2 x 180 watts at 4 ohms. Sufficient to drive any loudspeaker to musical performance. The entire signal path is DC coupled, which means a capacitor-free and therefore very clean and aging-resistant signal path. The transformer for the Mosfets is a specially wound 500-watt transformer, specifically designed for these amplifiers. The power bank has a storage of 70,000 µF. The Lector VM-200M has a dual set of WBT speaker terminals for easy bi-wiring applications. The Lector VM-200M is built with exclusively the finest components such as polypropylene capacitors, toroidal transformers, metal film and tantalium resistors. Entirely built in Italy, the Lector VM-200M is designed as a pure single-ended amplifier. Balanced designs add nothing in their view, can only deliver more power, but the precision is often considerably less. And the musicality often as well. In terms of sound, the VM-200M is a true Lector amplifier. The first thing that stands out is the enormous detail and matching musicality. The sound is lively, very pure and clean, and all musical instruments are completely separated from each other. The vocal rendering is excellent, and the bass reproduction is beautiful. Very pure, deep and with character. What also immediately stands out is the enormous spatial imaging. The Lector VM-200M is a typical amplifier that is not intrusive at all, but rather completely relaxing. These Lector VM-200M amplifiers are a real asset in the crowded amplifier market, and for what they deliver, technically and musically, they are downright affordable. The Lector VM-200M is permanently installed in the showroom of Ohm-Audio BV for a listening demonstration.
