SPECIFICATIONS
General: The Quad Revela series consists of two models, the Quad Revela 1 standmount speaker (+ optional matching Revela Stands), and the Revela 2 floorstanding speaker. This is the listing for the Quad Revela 1 standmount, a very high-quality and luxuriously finished speaker with an excellent price-to-performance ratio.

Technology: The Quad Revela 1 is a speaker that radiates luxury and elegance, with its beautiful high gloss finishes (choice of walnut or black) and especially on the optional stylish Revela Stands, you have a set that will delight not only your ears but also your eyes. The drivers used are specially developed for the Revela series. A True Ribbon tweeter is employed, extremely light and accurate without distortion or harshness. And the 165mm mid/bass driver is a specially developed driver with a diaphragm made from an advanced and versatile composition of various fiber types, which Quad calls 'Reveal™', a very apt name given the resolution of this modern driver. The rubber surround is also specially made for the Revela drivers and the magnetic drive is extremely powerful, which ultimately results in a very pronounced, powerful, smooth sound with excellent control that we expect from Quad. The enclosure is a ported design with a bass reflex system at the rear, tuned deep so it is not overly prominent when speakers are placed closer to a rear wall. Still, as with practically any speaker, a minimum distance from the rear wall is recommended.

Listening: The Quad Revela 1 has a very refined and transparent character which is very pleasant to the ear. The ribbon tweeter sounds very clean and distortion-free, enabling it to bring forward a large amount of detail without becoming harsh or aggressive. The treble does not feel particularly prominent, but rather transparent and airy, giving the music much space and openness. The midrange is natural and smooth with a touch of warmth, with a good transition between the midrange driver and the ribbon tweeter. Voices and acoustic instruments therefore receive sufficient body, while subtle nuances remain clearly audible. Especially with jazz, the attack of a saxophone, the brass of a trumpet and the strike of drumsticks are rendered convincingly. The bass reproduction is remarkably mature for a relatively compact standmount. It is not only tight and controlled, but also has warmth, weight and impact. With bass guitar and electronic music, the Quad Revela 1 therefore comes across surprisingly deep and powerful. In short, the Quad Revela 1 is a very complete and musical speaker in a stylish enclosure with an attractive price-to-performance ratio.

The Quad Revela 1 speakers are available for demonstration at Ohm-Audio B.V. and can be auditioned by appointment.
