General: SV Audio is a young loudspeaker brand from Denmark, based in Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm. It is a passionate and ambitious family business founded in 2023. This advertisement is about the SV Audio Frida, the compact 2-Way standmount loudspeaker from SV Audio.

Technology: SV Audio loudspeakers are made entirely in Denmark, and so is the SV Audio Frida. The enclosure is an open box with a bass reflex system and is made of sturdy MDF+. What completes the look, and this is not just design but also affects the dispersion behaviour, is the aluminium front baffle, CNC milled in-house. The 29mm ring dome tweeter has a specially developed frame around it and is driven by a powerful neodymium magnet system. The 127mm mid/bass woofer has a woven polypropylene diaphragm, a light, stiff and therefore stable material that is very suitable for music reproduction. These drivers are carefully tested and matched for optimal coherence. The internal wiring consists of silver-plated oxygen-free copper for a pure signal transfer. Much of the attention went into developing the crossover, which consists of high-quality components chosen to minimise inductance and resistance in the signal path for an unrestrained and coherent reproduction. Technically and visually, the SV Audio Frida is simply well built, and this also translates into the sound.

Listening: The SV Audio Frida is an exceptional standmount loudspeaker with a very mature sound. The bass, midrange and treble play together harmoniously, and nothing is given too much or too little. The depth of the bass reproduction, which is controlled and composed yet powerful, is also remarkable. The SV Audio Frida may be compact standmount loudspeakers, but the sound they produce is grand. We are not only talking about the bass, which goes much deeper than you would expect from speakers of this size, but also about the scale of the spatial image. Everything sounds very controlled and effortless. The tonal colour of the SV Audio Frida is neutral and clean, uncoloured and honest. This creates a convincing live effect. It is also nice that the SV Audio Frida can play quite firmly and dynamically when asked to. Rhythmically the sound is well put together and the music is reproduced with lots of detail. We have mainly discussed the technical side of the sound so far: dynamics, coherence, details, but most importantly, listening to the SV Audio Frida puts a smile on your face, time after time.

Ohm-Audio BV is the official Dutch distributor for SV Audio in the Benelux. We have the SV Audio Frida demo-ready and they can be auditioned by appointment, accompanied by a delicious cup of coffee.
