General: SV Audio is a young loudspeaker brand from Denmark, based in Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm. It is a driven and ambitious family business founded in 2023. This advertisement is about the SV Audio Gro, the compact 2-way floorstanding loudspeaker from SV Audio.

Technology: SV Audio loudspeakers are made entirely in Denmark, and so is the SV Audio Gro. The enclosure is an open box with a bass reflex system and is made of sturdy HDF+. What completes the look, and this is not just design but also serves the dispersion behavior, is the in-house CNC-milled aluminum front baffle. The 29mm ring dome tweeter has a special dispersion frame and is driven by a powerful neodymium magnet system. The two 127mm mid/bass woofers have a woven polypropylene diaphragm, a light, stiff and therefore stable material that is very suitable for music reproduction. These drivers are carefully tested and matched for optimal coherence. The internal wiring consists of silver-plated oxygen-free copper for pure signal transmission. A great deal of attention went into developing the crossover, which consists of high-quality components that minimize inductance and resistance in the signal path for an unrestrained and coherent reproduction. Technically and visually, the SV Audio Gro is simply well built, and this also translates into the sound.

Listening: The SV Audio Gro may be compact loudspeakers, but the sound they produce is grand. We are talking about the bass, which goes much deeper than you would expect from speakers of this size, but also about the size of the spatial image. If you close your eyes while listening, it is easy to imagine that much larger speakers are playing. Yet everything sounds very controlled and effortless. The tonal color of the SV Audio Gro is neutral and clean, uncolored and honest. This creates a convincing live effect. It is also nice that the SV Audio Gro can play quite firmly and dynamically when asked to. Rhythmically the sound is well put together, and the music is reproduced with a lot of detail. We have mainly discussed the technical side of the sound so far: dynamics, coherence, details, but most importantly, listening to the SV Audio Gro puts a smile on your face, time after time.

Ohm-Audio BV is the official Dutch distributor for SV Audio in the Benelux. We have the SV Audio Gro demo-ready and they can be auditioned by appointment, accompanied by a delicious cup of coffee.
