General :
The McIntosh MA2375 is the first integrated amplifier in more than a decade to feature a fully tube-based design. Put simply, you could consider the MA2375 an MC275 MK6 power amplifier combined with the preamplifier and tone control section of an MA352. The McIntosh MA2375 is a 2 x 75 Watt integrated tube amplifier, including a Phono input for MM or MC cartridges. It also features a high-quality headphone amplifier built in.

Technology : The McIntosh MA2375 is an extremely stable and solidly built amplifier. The McIntosh MA2375 offers 2 pairs of balanced XLR inputs, 3 pairs of unbalanced RCA inputs and an RCA phono input for MM or MC cartridges. For analog outputs, there is an RCA preamp output and a single RCA subwoofer output. On the front of the amplifier you will find 5 tone control knobs, allowing you to fully tailor the sound to your personal preference and/or room. The tube complement consists of 4 KT88 tubes and four 12AT7 tubes for the power amplification, and two 12AX7A and two 12AT7 tubes for the preamplification. The power of 75 Watts per channel is more than sufficient for most speakers, and even relatively demanding speakers can be driven well by the MA2375, even at higher volumes. The control the McIntosh MA2375 has over the speakers is also partly thanks to the smart protection McIntosh developed itself, called the 'Power Guard Screen Grid Sensor'. This technology ensures that the tubes perform optimally and keep operating at a safe level, so they do not clip. In addition, the amplifier's electronics are protected against short circuits and overvoltage by a fuseless protection system called 'Sentry Monitor'. By not using melting fuses, the current is virtually unimpeded, which benefits sound quality.

Appearance : A McIntosh device can almost always be recognized from a kilometer away, and the McIntosh MA2375 is no exception. The MA2375 features the signature glass panel on the front, where the McIntosh logo lights up in green and where 2 analog meters with an illuminated blue background are located. Below them you will find an LED display that shows the volume and input, and you can also open the menu with it. For those who are not fond of illuminated equipment, the lights behind the analog meters can be switched off, and the intensity of the small LED display can also be easily dimmed or made brighter. The glass front is framed by a chrome plate with the preamplifier tubes, and the tubes come with attractive individual protective cages that feature a McIntosh logo. The front tube bases have small lights in the bases that show the startup procedure, and once the MA2375 is ready for use they stay continuously green. These lights can also be switched off. And right at the front you will find 2 large shiny knobs for volume control and for operating the menu and selecting the input. Between the 2 large shiny knobs are 5 smaller but identically styled shiny knobs for tone control (30Hz, 125Hz, 500Hz, 2kHz and 10kHz). The McIntosh MA2375 is very solidly built and can drive almost any loudspeaker on the market. The dimensions are 45.2cm Wide x 25.2cm High x 51.9cm Deep, and the MA2375 weighs no less than 42.2 kg.

Sound : The McIntosh MA2375 surprised us with its character, as we know the typical McIntosh character. That means a beautiful, glowing, detailed and spacious sound. And although the MA2375 also has these qualities, we also noticed that it has a great deal of transparency and airiness. The sound of the McIntosh MA2375 is a very beautiful combination of comfort and warmth, but also rhythm and dynamics. A refined balance between liveliness and calm. The McIntosh MA2375 does not give too much or too little of anything. The sound is very controlled and balanced, and even at higher volumes with heavier music the McIntosh MA2375 keeps its grip and the sound remains comfortable, so you do not have to rush to the volume control to turn it down. This means you can enjoy the McIntosh MA2375 for hours, days, weeks, months or years. The tube sound is beautifully present, but by this we do not mean a woolly or colored sound, but rather a certain emotional impact and a moving reproduction. A sound in which you feel at home. Because of this very refined character, the McIntosh MA2375 is suitable for almost any type of music, at almost any volume, with almost any loudspeaker. It should also be mentioned that McIntosh offers excellent service for its equipment, so you need not worry about the future, because parts are well stocked and can be manufactured again in the future, and in this way McIntosh never leaves its customers out in the cold, as it should be.

Ohm-Audio B.V. is an official McIntosh dealer. The McIntosh MA2375 can be auditioned without obligation by appointment, over a delicious cup of coffee. We also have the MA252, MA352 and MSA5500 in stock for comparison.
