General: The Lector Audio ZOR is handcrafted entirely in Italy. It is a tube preamplifier with ZERO Feedback. The Lector Audio ZOR is the entry-level preamplifier from Lector Audio, very affordable yet highly musical. There is no solid state component in the signal path and the Lector ZOR features a very high-quality linear PSU. The Lector Audio ZOR's gain stage is an all-tube, class A design equipped with a pair of renowned 6922/ECC88 tubes. The Lector ZOR is simply designed, no technical gimmicks, tone control or balance control, just optimal treatment of the music signal and that is precisely the strength of this preamplifier and why it is so musical.

Functionality: The Lector Audio ZOR has five line inputs, a power switch, a volume knob with high-quality potentiometer which can be controlled remotely via a remote control. There is also a single set of passive volume outputs for a subwoofer. Optionally there is a home theater direct output (HTD) which switches the input directly when the Lector Audio ZOR is switched off and which bypasses the entire preamplifier circuit. This function is especially very useful in complex home theater installations and allows you to route the selected source signals to an external multi-channel processor.

Sound: The sound quality of the Lector Audio ZOR is fantastic. The sound is very lively and has a lot of body, you are immediately drawn into the music and the recording and the speakers disappear instantly and the entire listening room is filled with music. The Class A tube output stage provides plenty of glow and emotion, but without the typical false tube warmth, which is caused by an unskilled (too slow) design. The sound is thus transparent, but with warm undertones. Particularly the resolution and the playful and exuberant character ensures a reproduction where you cannot sit still, you no longer pay attention to the technology and what you exactly hear, you are only concerned with listening to the music with great pleasure and that is ultimately what it is all about. We can spend many words on the purity, the enormous dynamics, the airy soundstage, the accurate imaging and the ability to reproduce subtle details clearly, but we prefer to invite you to listen to the Lector Audio ZOR while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee.
