General: The Twenty5.22i is the larger standmount speaker from the smallest speaker in the Twenty5 i series by PMC Audio.

Technical: The PMC Twenty5.22i is from the latest generation of passive Twenty5 speakers, now with an 'i' suffix. The PMC Twenty5.22i is slightly larger than the Twenty5.21i. This is a technically very thoughtful speaker, and you can hear that too. This set is finished in a stylish high-gloss black finish and comes with the original PMC Audio stands. On the back of the speakers are stainless steel plates with the model number, and also the copper-routed and Rhodium Plated speaker terminals. The PMC Twenty5.22i is a transmission line speaker, which is rare among speakers of this size, but it certainly does its job. The low tones go very deep and remain crystal clear with this system. The high tones come from a 19mm Sonomex dome tweeter borrowed from PMC Audio's more expensive Fact series. The tweeter is protected by a frame that also ensures good dispersion. The mid/bass unit is a 170mm G-Weave driver, a long-throw woofer with a diaphragm made of a mix of polyethylene, fiberglass and Kevlar. The cabinet is made of HDF and is very solid and resonance-damped. The transmission line is vented at the front.

Listening: The PMC Twenty5.22i sounds neutral and musical. Thanks to its transmission line, the bass is round, deep and very pleasant without any 'boomininess'. This is a speaker with a very high fun factor due to its lively and spatial character. Everything sounds easy, open and musical. The PMC Twenty5.22i handles all music genres, even at higher volumes. And the image and details remain stable at lower volumes, a real jack-of-all-trades. The soundstage is also nicely large, high, wide and deep. These are very powerful and mature speakers that still have a playful edge. Feel free to come listen sometime and let yourself be convinced by these beautiful little powerhouses.
