General : Enormous high-end power amplifier from Krell in a rarely beautiful condition.

Technical : The Krell KSA-300S is an enormous, heavy amplifier which is built with technical sophistication. The Krell KSA-300S is a Class-A amplifier, however the amplifier switches the bias itself as soon as more power is required, so it does not operate at full power at lower volumes or with speakers of higher sensitivity. This saves on power consumption and generated heat. The bias is indicated by LED lights on the front panel, which can also be switched off for those who prefer not to look at lights. Once you look inside the amplifier, you will undoubtedly immediately notice the enormous ring core transformer, as well as the huge capacitors. Due to these gigantic 5000 watt power supply and the heavy chassis, the total weight reaches no less than 84 kg (!). But this makes this amplifier extremely stable, even when driving the most difficult speakers. According to Krell's specifications, the amplifier begins at 300 Watts at 8 Ohm and doubles this power with every halving of the impedance up to 1 Ohm. That would mean 2400 Watts at 1 Ohm.
