General : The Lumin U1 is the former flagship digital audio streamer from the renowned Lumin brand from Hong Kong. This Lumin U1 is equipped with Lumin's best power supply, the X1 PSU, which delivers the very best results. The standard power supply is also included. This Lumin U1 is a digital streaming transport, which means it has no DAC and therefore the Lumin U1 only has digital outputs. The great advantage of this is that both the streamer and the DAC are not affected by each other's interference and are powered separately.

Streaming : The Lumin U1 can be controlled with the Lumin app which is free to download on IOS or Android, in the Lumin app you can log in with your Tidal and/or Qobuz account. But you can also place the Lumin U1 as a RoonReady player behind a Roon Server, or as a DLNA player behind an Audirvana server. For a simpler and more direct solution, you can also use Tidal Connect or Spotify Connect and you can also stream via Apple AirPlay to the Lumin U1. For those who enjoy listening to internet radio, TuneIn Radio is integrated into the Lumin app. The Lumin U1 can play all file formats from MP3, PCM up to High Res 32bit/768kHz and DSD files up to DSD512. Optionally, you can choose from upsampling options up to PCM 384kHz or even DSD128.

Listening : The Lumin U1 with X1 PSU sounds spatial, very detailed and above all very pleasant. The music is reproduced in a natural and engaging way without a digital edge. Certainly the X1 PSU also plays a major role in how well the U1 can sound, the X1 PSU sounds significantly better than the standard included PSU.
