The very solidly built and excellent-sounding Mark Levinson No 390S is a high-end 24-bit CD player with built-in analog preamplifier for direct connection to power amplifiers. This preamplifier with ladder-controlled resistors in the volume control comes directly from the volume control of the No. 32 Reference Preamplifier. This Mark Levinson 390S distinguishes itself from its predecessor, the No. 39, in that the audio board is made of the expensive Arlon 25N, which is also used in other reference products by Mark Levinson. The Mark Levinson 390S also features 2 digital inputs, so you can also connect a digital source such as a streamer or television directly to this CD Processor, which will then benefit from the very high-quality 24-bit D/A Converter on board the Mark Levinson 390S.
