General : The Melody Platinum 845 is a Single Ended integrated tube amplifier from Australia.

Technology : The Melody Platinum 845 delivers a modest 2 x 22 watts in pure Class A. Single Ended means that this amplifier amplifies the entire audio signal, both the positive and negative halves, through just 1 component, in this case the large and powerful 845 tube. This Melody Platinum 845 amplifier is entirely hard-wired, so there is no printed circuit board. The bias of the tubes is set automatically, so in case of a tube change you can simply order and install a new matched pair. The Melody Platinum 845 is built with very high-quality components, such as Supreme Silver in Oil, Nichicon Gold Tune and Solen Gold Label Capacitors. Ceramic tube feet, gold-plated. 1% resistors. No cost or effort has been spared to make it a very musical amplifier. The Melody Platinum 845 is built like a tank, and weighs no less than 41kg net. In 2018-04 the amplifier was brought in for a service, new top-quality tubes were installed, and this amplifier was traded in with us after a few months, so the tubes are only just now being broken in.

Sound : Sonically, the Melody Platinum 845 is a very fine amplifier. Forget about things like peak dynamics and a super-tight clinical sound. The Melody Platinum 845 amplifier simply makes music. Combine the Melody with a speaker with decent efficiency, and you have a top-quality system for a very reasonable price, and you have a system that makes music directly, rather than just sound. We have listened in the shop to the large Blumenhofer Gran Gioia with this amplifier, and the result is incredibly beautiful. The Vienna Acoustics The Music also sounds fantastic with this amplifier. This Melody Platinum 845 is in like-new condition and is completely complete, including the original packaging and remote control.
