General : The Naim ND5 XS is the entry-level streamer model from the British brand Naim. It is a solidly built and versatile streamer with a built-in DAC and digital inputs at its disposal.

Technical : The Naim ND5 XS is a streamer that can be controlled with the Naim app, but also optionally with Spotify Connect. Additionally, Bluetooth aptX connectivity is available for convenience. The high-quality D/A Converter can convert files up to 24bit/192kHz via the digital inputs. DSD files can also be played over the network. The Naim ND5 XS works with any network storage to play music from, a NAS, NUC, Computer, Naim Server, or any other network storage. There is a USB port on the front to play music from a USB stick. The Naim ND5 XS has a very good power supply built in, but this can be improved by connecting a Naim XP5 XS, XPS, or 555 PS power supply.

Listening : The Naim ND5 XS sounds excellent for an entry-level streamer. The spatial imaging is beautifully large and well-organized. The tonal character is pleasant, detailed, and slightly warm. All in all, a very well-built and musically sounding streamer/DAC for the money. Especially at this sharp second-hand price.
