General : The Pass Labs XP-22 is a reference-class preamplifier from America. Pass Labs is renowned for its natural sound and exceptionally high build quality.

Technical : Normally, the power supply of an audio device and the remaining electronics are housed in the same chassis. However, a power supply can introduce interference. Therefore, the Pass Labs XP-22 is equipped with an external power supply. Additionally, this power supply is built much more robustly than, for example, the power supply of the Pass Labs XP-12 preamplifier. The Pass Labs XP-22 power supply is linear and fully dual mono constructed. The lower chassis contains the power supply, while the upper chassis contains the preamplifier itself. The Pass Labs XP-22 is 100% balanced in construction, from input to output. Thanks to the completely separate circuits, the Pass Labs XP-22 sounds noticeably better and more refined than the already excellent XP-12. The Pass Labs XP-22 has sufficient XLR and RCA inputs for virtually any audio installation. The outputs also feature both XLR and RCA connectors, which can be used simultaneously. The volume control uses the same single stage volume control found in Pass Labs' top-of-the-line preamplifier (the XP-30).
