General : The Sonus Faber Amati Tradition is the flagship model of the Homage Tradition series.

Technology : For the new Sonus Faber Amati Tradition, several new techniques have been developed, and new speaker units have been designed and built. The cabinet is made of resonance-free laminated wood and is truly finished beautifully. A thick layer of wood, Wenge, and then lacquered ten times. Then polished. It doesn't get much more elegant than this. In creating the speaker units for the Sonus Faber Amati Tradition, Sonus Faber chose drivers made of natural materials. The bass woofers are a lightweight sandwich cone with paper and a foam core. Super fast, stiff and without annoying resonances. The midrange driver is a neodymium-driven cone, again made of multiple layers of foam and paper. The tweeter is a large (28mm) Neodymium-driven D.A.D. (Damped Apex Dome) silk dome tweeter. The D.A.D. technology ensures that the tweeter has less distortion and can also play significantly louder if needed. The dedicated compartment in which the tweeter sits is milled from a solid block of wood and ensures that the tweeter is not affected by resonances from the other drivers.
