General : The second newest Sonus Faber Guarneri, predecessor to the G5 model. Made in Italy!

Technical : The Sonus Faber Guarneri Tradition is a beautifully constructed compact loudspeaker with an integrated stand. The Guarneri Tradition enclosure is made of multiple wood layers, interrupted by aluminum strips. The top and bottom are made of a billet aluminum plate, with Wenge inlaid. The aluminum is brushed. The rear is a one-piece cast solid aluminum part, with an integrated port for the bass reflex. This port is a Stealth port which works inaudibly, so without annoying background noise. The units themselves are also very special. The woofer is a compound cone, with a very powerful voice coil and a neodymium magnet. The tweeter is also driven by a neodymium magnet, and has a wood-routed back-loading enclosure, which makes its own resonance extremely low. The stand is made of 2 heavy metal plates, which are clamped to the super rigid and damped carbon base. The whole unit stands on anti-resonance spikes. The visual result is truly very successful, and the acoustic performance is 'stunning'.

Listening : The Guarneri Tradition have enormous openness and speed, and combine that with the special rendering of the Homage, and, after long break-in, also the composure that the previous models in the Guarneri series have. All Sonus Faber Guarneri's have something that immediately draws you into the recording. The sound is noticeably cleaner and faster than the older series, and the soundstage is truly enormous. The bass reproduction is also very pure and very well articulated. Also, the Tradition can play seriously loud, and not only that, the soundstage and dynamics remain completely intact. Where the Homage, Memento and Evolution clearly compress somewhat, the Tradition still delivers top performance. The Sonus Faber Guarneri Tradition is therefore a very successful continuation of the Guarneri. The Sonus Faber Guarneri Tradition are standard ready to listen at our facility.
