General : Beautiful set of floor-standing speakers with D'Appolito configuration from British Acoustic Energy

Technical : The Acoustic Energy AE509 is a relatively compact floor-standing speaker with great character. The meter-high cabinet is made of 18mm thick RSC, a material that is extremely rigid and resonance-free, and also ensures that despite their small size, these speakers still weigh a hefty 22kg each. Two 125mm carbon woofers and a 25mm carbon tweeter are housed in these cabinets. These units form a so-called D'Appolito configuration. The use of carbon for the tweeter and woofers is also a welcome improvement over the ceramic units in the AE509's predecessors.

Listening : Acoustic Energy has thoroughly thought about how these speakers should sound, and you can hear it. The sound is beautifully balanced. You can hear all the details in the recording and there is no harshness to be found. The bass is wonderfully full and has plenty of definition. In short, these speakers invite you to stay and keep listening. This set is in fantastic condition, complete with original packaging and now available to audition in our showroom.
