General : Sleek and beautifully constructed 4-Way Reference Loudspeaker

Technical : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a completely new design by Manfred Diestertich. Entirely different in construction from the previous Caldera series. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a closed loudspeaker system, made from one piece of curved special MDF. The majority of the Audio Physic Caldera 3 is intended for bass reproduction. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is closed, and has 1 active woofer and 1 passive woofer per side, thus 4 moving units. The units are equipped with ceramic-coated aluminum cones. The passive radiators eliminate rumble from bass reflex ports, and the bass is therefore very deep, tight and yet tuneful. The lower midrange is presented by a ceramic-coated aluminum unit, as is the midrange itself. This unit is built behind the floating suspended ring radiator tweeter, a very special construction. The amplifier connection is a single wire WBT connection, also built on a floating connection panel.

Listening : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 sounds like a true reference loudspeaker. Grand, with an enormously deep and pure bass reproduction, a beautiful open and very musical midrange, and extremely refined highs. Combined with a large and precise spatial image, there is nothing left to wish for. Thanks to the closed bass system, the bass reproduction always remains beautiful and smooth. The specific coaxial midrange unit with floating tweeter proves to work extremely well. The reproduction is spatially very pure, but never harsh. A large emotional sound unfolds easily. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a typical musical loudspeaker suitable for listening to music evening after evening. Technical : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a whole new concept from Manfred Diestertich. It's built totally different than the previous Caldera series. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a closed loudspeakersystem which has been made from 1 big piece of high quality bent mdf. The cabinet of the Audio Physic Caldera 3 is closed, but it has 1 passive radiator per side of the speaker, so 2 in total. It also has 2 active woofers per side. The units are made from aluminium which has been coated with a ceramic coating. The passive radiators are there to release pressure from the cabinet, without giving the same messy vibrations that a bass reflex port would give. Because of this, the bass goes very deep, but stays pure, clean and tunefull. The low midrange tones are being presented by a ceramic coated aluminium unit which is found under the tweeter. But you will also find this same unit behind the 'floating' tweeter inside of the cabinet to present the higher midrange tones. The tweeter is not screwed onto the cabinet but it's hanging in a floating construction. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a very special construction. The loudspeaker inputs are single wire WBT loudspeaker inputs for Spades or Banana Plugs, which are mounted on a floating panel to eliminiate any cabinet resonance going to the loudspeaker cable.

Sound : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 sounds like a true reference loudspeaker. It sounds big, with a great depth and a transparent bass. The midrange is nice and open and very musically presented. The high notes are very detailled, neutral and refined. Combine this with a very precise and big soundstage and there is nothing left to wish for. It's very special to hear such clear & clean mid/high notes which such detail, without the loudspeaker sounding overly bright or sharp. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 can be used for a wide range of music genres. It has the power and speed to play electronic music, it has the emotion to play vocal jazz and blues, it has the resolution to play live music and it has the fun factor to play reggae and pop. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a loudspeaker which can be enjoyed many hourse every day without listening fatique and will never bore you after a few years of owning them, they will only grow on you.
