The Audio Research REF-5 SE preamplifier is one of the best preamplifiers in the world, period. The REF 5 SE is balanced from input to output, and fully equipped with tubes. It is also one of the most modern tube preamplifiers in the world. Incredibly solid and beautifully built, with many unique features. The Audio Research REF 5 SE is truly a master of detail and dynamics. You will hear and feel details you have never noticed before. The 3-dimensionality is overwhelming. This Audio Research REF 5 SE is finished in silver and is in virtually like-new condition, and is completely intact. The current tubes have 1300 hours of use and can certainly go another 1000 hours. The tube counter now shows 3900, because the customer forgot to reset the tube counter, which was at 2600 hours, to zero during the tube replacement. Additionally, a new tube set (5 x 6H30, 1 x 6550) is included for an additional 2500 hours of musical enjoyment.
