The AudioQuest Fire XLR was a former flagship balanced analog interlink from AudioQuest before the FireBird and Dragon interconnects were made. The conductors are made of 100% pure PSS (Perfect Surface Silver) and the connectors are the best connectors AudioQuest had to offer at that time. These connectors are cold-soldered for ideal signal transfer from conductor to connector, the contact points themselves are silver-plated. The entire cable is actively shielded by the 72V DBS system which is attached to the cable to counteract electromagnetic interference. The signal is thus optimally transmitted and shielded, and you can hear that too. The AudioQuest Fire sounds transparent, detailed and lively in a very true-to-nature manner. The bass is rhythmic and tight, vocals and acoustic instruments articulate fantastically and the treble is rich but nuanced.
