General : The AudioQuest Wind is a high-end analog interlink with pure silver conductors. The AudioQuest Wind features AudioQuest's patented 72V DBS system which provides active shielding and smooth signal transmission. The conductors are made of solid PSS (Perfect Surface Silver), a very pure type of silver with a perfectly smooth surface from AudioQuest for optimal signal transmission. The dielectric consists of FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) air tubes which prevent the internal conductors from affecting each other through self-inductance. The shielding consists of multi-layer carbon fiber which has excellent shielding properties. All in all, the AudioQuest Wind is a high-quality interlink with good value for money.

Sound Characteristics : The AudioQuest Wind has a very well-balanced sound. The cable itself is neutral, which means it does not add coloration to the sound. Yet the sound also sounds full, powerful and crisp at the same time. The bass is tight and has plenty of body but does not dominate. The midrange and treble are rich, transparent and refined. The AudioQuest Wind never sounds harsh, but never dull either. As mentioned earlier: a very well-balanced sound. This means the AudioQuest Wind can be used in many systems and is easy to match with many brands and types of equipment. The AudioQuest Wind sounds slightly fresher, more precise and more rhythmic than the lower-priced AudioQuest cables with copper conductors due to the superior conductive properties of silver versus copper and the better dielectric and thicker, more extensive shielding.
