The Avalon Acoustics Eclipse Classic is the successor to the still excellent-sounding Avalon Eclipse speakers. The Eclipse set standards in the rendering of spatial imaging, and is still one of the best speakers on the market. The Avalon Eclipse Classic is the successor to the original Eclipse and sounds noticeably more open and dynamic, therefore better. The speaker configuration and cabinet construction have been upgraded, the tweeter has received a stronger magnet, and the crossover has been completely redesigned. The original Eclipse was quite difficult to drive, and this Eclipse Classic also plays excellently with less powerful amplifiers, and tube amplifiers as well.

Sound : The Avalon Eclipse Classic is a true High End speaker with a very musical and distinctive character. It is a sealed 2-way system in a very heavy and solidly constructed enclosure, which is beautifully finished with genuine Curly Maple. The Avalon Acoustics Eclipse Classic can easily keep up with current high-end speakers, and still does some things better than most of them. Due to the sealed system, bass reproduction is unparalleled in precision. Tight, deep, and very well-defined. The midrange is also of great quality. Pure, clean, and very transparent. The tweeter is crossed over very low, starting at 1000 Hz. The upper midrange and ultra-high reproduction is therefore so distinctive, transparent, and dynamic that it really sounds wonderful. The crossover is built into a separate compartment in the bottom of the enclosure and is therefore not affected by resonances. Once properly set up, the Avalon Acoustics Eclipse Classic does things that make other speakers pale in comparison. A complete musical image, from deep bass to high treble, ultra-transparent and very authentic. Very special, and you can listen to it for hours without ear fatigue. A requirement is that the Avalon Acoustics Eclipse Classic be provided with a very good system, as all weaknesses in the chain suddenly become audible. The Avalon Eclipse Classic is, alongside the original Eclipse, one of our personal favorites and very suitable for music lovers in compact rooms, but they can also handle very large spaces. The Avalon Eclipse Classic can play loud, but really excels in an incredibly musical reproduction provided the volume is not turned up too high. These Avalon Acoustics Eclipse Classic speakers are finished in Curly Maple and are in excellent condition, and come complete with the Apex Couplers and manual. The Avalon Acoustics Eclipse Classic speakers are ready for a musical listening session, and are ready for many more years of musical enjoyment in your home.
